Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
i looked on companies house the other day and noticed he had set up a company in sept
i think he will just co-promote opposed to going completely on his own/with Warren or maybe Hatton because he does/did have links with that lawyer geezer

Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
It would be unbelievable if he left FW
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
Is this another fighter in which Warren delivers on his final fight of his contract as an insentive to sign on... and the fighter has said "going it alone, sorry". ?
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
I'd laugh my ass off if Khan left Warren after the Salita fight.
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
I could see him working with another promotor to get Sky tv deal. It will be a massive blow to Warren stable!

You think frank going to let his show pony go? ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

Wazza stable headline acts that are current champs if Khan goes are:
Sexton Commonwealth heavy
Cleverly British and Commonwealth light heavy
Smith British Super middleweight
Kell Brook British Welterweight
Burns Commonwealth Super feather
Mitchell British superfeather
Broadhurst Commonwealth super fly
Is there anyone else?

I cannot see Sexton selling much if it doesn't involve Rogan.
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
I'm sure he won't want him to go but Naz, Hatton and JC all did, i'd imagine Khan will have a job getting paid for his next fight if he leavesKennyboy wrote:You think frank going to let his show pony go?

id be surprised is FW made that much money out of khan anyway.... failed boxoffice & high wages
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
This could explain matching Mitchell with Prescott to accelerate Mitchell to world level. Khan not box office material or really a big star most people I know do not like him.

Roll on months of FW slagging Khan in his column
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
Aye, it's funny when he get's the shit end of the stick and comes out with his usual "I thought of him as a friend" "If you want loyalty, get a dog" blah blah blah.Nightmare Roy wrote:Roll on months of FW slagging Khan in his column
Don't you think he'd have realised by now that there are no friends in business and as for loyalty he'd be the first person to drop a fighter as soon as it started going wrong.

I would be amazed if Amir changed anything. Especially afther the way he has been brought back after the Prescott loss.
Re: Amir Khan - contract free with his own promotions company...
If Warren knew Khan was elaving Im sure amir wouldve been thrown in with prescott again, or a marquee name.

Worst kept secret in boxing.
I can't believe people are in disbelief.
Personally i think it's great news for Clev, who is the same age as Amir and a much better prospect.

PS- this is the reason he's suddenly been throwing all these parting shots at everyone - because he's heading stateside.
Expect some brutal KO losses in 2010.

I just dont understand why he's not been thrown to a marquee name by frank in his last fight then ... ??

The problem is that Khan's demands were such that the only way to get him his demands, was to go PPV.
Then Khan's viewing numbers slumped.
Wazza has no TV Contract with anyone.
I believe the Khan deal was on a fight by fight basis, and subject to Sky approval.
The final nail in the coffin for this deal I truly believe was the Haye result, and the viwing figures.
If the numbers are to be believed Sky grossed £448,500 for the last Khan fight, and £11,960,000 for the Haye fight.
No brainer for Sky.
I also believe that the last few Khan fights have been loss makers for Wazza.
I do have sympathy for Wazza here but ultimately Khan was inevitably going to "do a Naz" and at some stage.
I also think that the outcome is going to be similar.
Families and Boxing Management / Promotion just do not mix.

Wales,
A simple answer mate.
There just isn't enough money in the kitty to secure a marquee name.
Even Wazza can do the maths and he ain't gonna pour money down the sink.

i would find it hilarious if khan left wazza. that would make my day. wazza is a bitter old turd. i can just imagine his weekly column in the sun hurling abuse at khan for the next year instead of froch and hayeCoco wrote:It would be unbelievable if he left FW
