Have to agree one of them sad fights - Its never good to see a previous brave champion who is past it get beaten badly.

With that said thought Crolla was excellent and he has clearly moved on and will be a viable threat to anyone domestically and to be honest if he keeps improving then European honours are certainly not out of the equation either - if he then gets that far then he and his team can start thinking of bigger things.

Pleased for Crolla - got to say I really doubted the validity of him leaving Arnie Farnell who I think is an excellent trainer but Gallagher has clearly brought out some big improvements in him.

Yeah, Crolla is showing some big improvements. I think it is tough to judge him based on who he beat last night..... Steve Conway looked the bee knees beating up old Steve Robinson. Personally, I would be surprised, but pleasantly surprised, if he got to EBU title level.

He's practically ready for anyone at domestic level now.

How about Crolla vs Truscott in some kind of eliminator.

Was a stupid fight for Hatton's Team to make and for Brodie to take.

u could argue it was a bit early to go in against a decent-ish operator like crolla.

but sooner or later brodie had to find out what he had left.

very sad seeing him get completely taken apart like that.

no real surprise though.

some of the moves were still there.

just like when he fought harrison 4 and a half yrs ago.

but his punch resistance isn't at the races anymore. :(

Crolla lived up to his nickname at times

Punching with such control. Thought he shipped a few two many bodyshots but this is boxing, you are gonna get hit

Glad that he hasn't been cast off and that he has avenged one of his losses. Now for the other one

Thanks for the piece Terry, really enjoyed it. However, I have to take issue with the line regarding Brodie's win over Alexander and how it gave fans a "tantalising belief in his comeback".
Surely that's your own rose-tinted specs coming out there, as from memory the Alexander victory was meant with near-unanimous calls for Brodie to head back into retirement as it was clear he was shot?

A few people thought he showed smething in that one and would be able to make a solid fist of it. I thought he should have stayed retired but am a fan of Brodie the fighter so had hoped he could get some positive closure on his career.

Agree with your point though, it was late, I was tired and my mind may have romanticised the comeback win a little bit too much :TU:
Fella, it would be a cruel world if we weren't allowed a bit of subjectivity and romanticising now and then :TU:
