Egan's style was much more suited for the amateurs anyway IMO. nice to hear he's a good fella, he always came across that way

thanks for all the answers on this thread tony top man :TU:

you know what pal the truth is i dont look past my next fight , i think if u start looking to far ahead you forget about what is in front of you and thats where u make mistakes, hopfully in 12 moths i'll be doing 8 or even 10 rounders , it all depens how fast i learn and adapt i think mate,

Does it really matter that the big fans have no money

Newcastle are still a bigger club than Sunderland and that is coming from a neutral.

Newcastle a bigger club than Sunderland. I would find that debateable personally.

Sunderland last won a major tophy a LOT more recently and even that was in '73. They are in the Premier League, I would sa they have a better stadium.

I can't really talk about the fan bases because I don't know but I think the SOL gets pretty full, and when Newcastle were playing in Europe not long back, as well as League Cup matches they had barely 10 thousand of "the most passionate fans in (insert World/ country/ etc..)

Hi Tony

Its been great reading all the questions and your replies, so thanks for taking the time out. I just wondered, as you were a world class amateur, what the difference in training is like in terms of technical skills now as a pro. How does working one on one with a pro trainer compare to your amateur days?

All the best in your career, I enjoy watching you box and really think you can go far.

Cheers :box:

thanks for your message mate,

as an Amateur we trained 4 times a day on the GB squad , some session we did felt like we where only doing them just for the sake of it, we worked alot on technic drills and how to beat different types of styles of Opponents, we also worked in a big group sometimes up to 15 of us with only 3 coaches,

now as a pro its twice a day + weights 3 times a week ( weights session with kerry kayes only lasts 11 minutes)

now its alot more 1 on 1 work with me and bobby my coach, one Run one gym session the session i do will be longer thans the sessions as an am ,

theres stuff in my style i had have to change like my footwork as an am i was always on my toes moving , iv slowed that down now and plant my feet alot more to get that extra power,

i enjoy it better as a pro , but i would never knock what Terry Edwards had us doing as Am's because he really did get the results

cheers pal

i worked as a doorman for a while when i was 18, i used bought and sold cars, i always did alright then i bought a burger van done my food and hygiene course and used to graft my balls off on that, it was a good earner , some day i want to get my own restraunt
