Christmas Thread

Post by Chris W 1982 »

Can I be the first to wish all users a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.

Any one got any boxing items on their lists?

Whats your New year wishlist. Heres mine.

A real American Heavyweight to emerge, Myaweather to fight Pacman, Jones and Hopkins to put on a classic then both announce their retirements in unison, Tony Dodson, Tony Quigley and Paul Smith to have a series of fights, the olympians to compete for British titles, I wanna see Audley Harrison finally fulfill some of his potential, the ABA's to be like they used to be, I wanna see Ricky Hatton retire, i want Oscar De La Hoya to stay retired, Edwin Valero become an international star, Darren Barker to fight against one of the German World Champions, Gamboa to fight Juanma, I pray Carl Froch stays undefeated.

too many to think of right now :TU:

however, as regards the Haye comment I hold out no hope whatsoever that Haye can beat either of the Klits. Despite Wladimir's suspect chin, I just think that piston like jab keeps Haye right out of the fight and the right ends it inside.

Still, knowing David, he will be more than keen to have a go. Another trip to Germany for Haye. Wembley might generate more cash but no way do those 2 leave home imo.

My wish is for people not to start celebrating xmas until mid December, rather than beginning in October and finishing in february just in time for Valentines Day :)

Isn't the 11th the day you're supposed to put them up?
I thought it was the 11th night you take them down?

Hahaha - the good thing about being in the middle of China no wizzard, or Jonah Lewie or the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl - all good songs in their own right but you know - 64 days non stop grates, 'I wish I could be christmas everyday..' No Roy - because I would have to listen to your shitty tune everyday which would lead me to self harm. :(

It was Advent Sunday yesterday, heathen. 8) The proper time to put up decorations.

And they're supposed to come down on twelfth night, Jan 6th.

Isn't it true that Harrods' Christmas display goes up straight after the August Bank Holiday weekend? No joke.

Has anyone noticed how Christmas isn't such a big deal any more?

about 5-10 years ago, it was really "rammed home", now things seem to have cooled off a little.

Cooled off its got worse. Now you get xmas decs up in october in supermarkets. By the way these are the same supermarkets that start selling mince pies in september with sell by dates of the 2nd December :witzend:.

Then you get those god awful christmas compilation cd's that they play over the tannoy all your "favourite" xmas songs sung by nobodies oh joy.

Another thing why do shops employ those eternally cheery people on the counters during xmas. Nobody is that cheerful not even if your on something do me a fovour and be miserable, everyone else is. :witzend: :witzend:
