I've been to two - McGuigen/Pedroza @ Loftus road ( 25,000 ) and Bruno/Bugner ( don't ask )

Wales: Bruno - Lewis

Scotland: Tyson - Savarese

If the Tszyu fight comes off, imagine Blue Moon at Maine Road? Would be like Danny Boy all over again.

Like everyone is saying, this fight reminds you of McGuigen/Pedroza:
A great champion, possibly nearing the end of a brilliant career, coming over to take on the rising star of UK boxing.

Major differences: Tszyu carries a much bigger punch than Pedroza, plus McGuigen had a great chin. And Hatton might not hold a shot as well as Barry did. Still, his chin might prove good enough yet.....

Got to say, it's quite an intriguing fight, still a lot of question marks about Hatton, stepping up in class, but also about Tszyu, has he got the engine to fight at a fast pace?

Blimey only 2-1, I would have thought it would have been 3-1, Hatton is more fancied than some people would think.

watch for those odds to get even shorter. Hatton's less knowledgeable fans will look at those odds and pile money on hatton.

could be a good chance to win nice money on tszyu if this happens.

Fair point, you could also argue that Hatton has never had his 'Laporte'.

I think you're probably right, KOJOE. When I think back it looked like a stadium - you could see the crowd reaching wide, far back. Hopefully Stu Jones could confirm whether it is or not, I'm pretty sure he was there.

It was Cardiff Rugby Club, called the Arms park which was situated next door to where Wales used to play Rugby (which was commonly known as the Arms park, but really was the National Stadium of Wales).

Bruno vs Lewis was in the big stadium (where Wales used to play), Robinson vs Hamed was at the smaller Arms park.

Always thought would the crowd have inspired Robinson more if it was in the ICE Rink, the sound used to swirl around that chlostrophobic venue. Imagine how the chants would have sounded for that fight in the Rink.

Yes I was looking at Barry McGuigan's record, and that's the one thing that stands out, Hatton has never faced a former champ, but LaPorte was a little way past his very best, he was still ambitious and he went on to fight Tszyu, Chavez and Nelson.

However, looking at the rest of McGuigan's competition, most of his other opponents were nothing special, LaPorte was his big step up, you could argue that Hatton's opponents in Magee, Tackie, Phillips, Stewart and Oliveria are better than McGuigan's other victims.

The LaPorte fight was an important step though, someone like Leija would maybe have been a good preparation.

Yes always forget that, but he was well past his best, and was at the end of his career, LaPorte was nearer his prime.

Phillips was about 6 years past his best when Hatton fought him. The legend that is Terron Millett knocked him out in 99.
