Questions for Larry Olubamiwo.

Post by alexpaterson »

I'm doing an interview with him for Boxrec News next Saturday and was wondering do any of you have questions you would like me to ask?

Peret is not as bad as he looks.

He's not great but he will beat a lot of people simply because he is prepared to have a proper go.

Do you see your size as a problem as you develop and if so what will you change in training to get around it?

There's very clearly only one cabbage around here my friend, and it's not Larry. By the way, if you're going to question someone's intellect, it would probably carry greater weight if you were able to spell correctly, otherwise it becomes rather ironic :TU:

it is funny how the heavies get a lot of attention but for me i find it interesting to sometimes to read about guys like Larry and they are going about day to day buisness being pro boxers. You have to remember a lot of fighters who turn pro are still working full time jobs which sometimes makes training very hard. I often wonder how many fighters would of done better if they had been able to give it 100% without having to work as well. Some of these guys have interesting tales to tell and for example one of the best pieces i read recently was an interview with Peret the only man to beat Larry.
yea i feel youseff al hamidi is one of these guys he was a multi antional winnign amatur but he wonrks full days and doesn have a amanger or promoter and has had some good wins and ran john murry close, if he can do that on a few days notice imagine what he could of done with the right backing

yes his comment was rather ironic but at the same time he is only giving his opinion whether you agree with it or not but what he dosent seem to realise is that Larry is still making the transition to the Pro boxing ranks and has never claimed to be the second coming of Mike Tyson

Tom Dallas is up and running with the fight against Carl Baker

we can judge him after that

Larry O unfortunately dsnt deserve any comment...yet

when Larry gets a proper fight then we can judge

i realise hes a novice

so lets be patient people.

I would like to know what type of stamina trainign does he do and what plans he has to reduce his bulk. I know he says its natural but its tsill a bit of a nuisance

Also ask him how long he thinks he needs before fighting for a title of some sort?

Ask him if Matt Skelton and the vast success he achieved acts as some kind of inspiartion for himself?

christymetcalfe1 wrote:i have just read some of the abuse i have been given and find most of it ridiculously stupid
As stupid as calling someone a "cabbige", especially when that person (Larry) has already posted on this board and revealed himself to be humble, thoughtful and with a high degree of self-awareness regarding his career development?
Your derogatory comment, which was completely uncalled for, undermined any valid point you may have had and of all the posts on this thread is the only one that can truly be defined as "ridiculously stupid".

And to address DG's point, he's making the point that its obvious this christy character hasn't stepped in the ring or she'd never be so disrespectful to a boxer as she would be aware of how difficult and demanding boxing is.
