Lopez did all he could at Straweight, he is clearly the greatest ever fighter in that division. I just don't take an undefeated ledger against decent opposition above guys who battled the best consistently and took some lumps. I don't have a problem with him in a top 10, but ahead of Morales and in the top 5 is too much for my taste.

Without a ton of thought and probably missing someone.

1. Sanchez
2. olivares
3. Morales/MAB
5. Arizmendi
6. Zarate
7. JMM
8. Chavez
9. Canto
10. JLC, Raffy, Gasper Ortega, Saldivar

Lists are subjective as all hell. I knoiw most rate chavez much higher than I do. LOL, I changed the list since I posted it.

I'm thinking Jose Luis Castillo & Rafael Marquez probably aren't top-ten all-time for their country, much as I've been a fan of both.

At any rate, on the subject of Lopez, he may just've been the most gifted and skilled fighter I've witnessed first-hand in my lifetime. Why the might? As much as anything (the thoughts of Jones, mayweather, Pacquiao, Whitaker & co. to contend with), it's an issue of his competition. He doesn't have it.

Still, a simply breath-taking boxer. He's absolutely top-ten, & that's not even a debate for mine. Had he a stiffer resume, I've little doubt he could've arisen to the top-five without challenge. He may still be there.

Here is mine:
1. JC Chavez
2. Salvador Sanchez
3. Ruben Olivares
4. Arizmendi
5. Saldivar
6. Lopez
7. Zarate
8. Morales (I think he was better than Barrera but his prime was shorter)
9. Barrera
10. JMM

I honestly don’t see Canto as a top 10.

I do have Canto a bit high there. Chavez should be ahead of him. Have to edit that.
