John Ruiz should be in the HOF some day.

Two-times the WBA champion, I cant think of any other HW on the scene, including the Klitschko's, who has fought as many high caliber HW's than what Ruiz has. Ruiz has had a ridiculously high win/loss ratio against the likes of Golota, Rahman, Tua, Oquendo, Johnson, Chagaev, Valuev, Holyfield, McCline, Jones, Toney, etc

And for him to still be considered one of the top 3 American HW's, and still a top 15 HW across the board, is quite an achievement, no matter how you look at it. I've seen guys with less credentials make it into the HOF.

Would Ruiz have beaten a Lewis or Klitschko, more than likely not. But thats not the issue here. Ruiz may not be the most eciting fighter to watch, but he has never ducked an opponent, and always gives his best, and his conditioning must be ecellent, else he wouldnt be able to maul all over an opponent for 12 rounds.

His record against the men I mentioned earlier? 6-6-1 with 1 NC, and mind you the Valuev losses were dubious, as many felt that Ruiz got the better of the giant HW in their two bouts, so really his record is 8-4-1 with 1 NC. No matter how you slice it, dice it, Ruiz should be in the HOF. No other HW has the record he does against that kind of opposition.

Hall of fame... uhh I don't know.

I do agree that is terribly underrated though due to his ugly rasslin style but he just kept winning and that matters more than entertaining.

I don't hope he beats Haye but I do think he can.

Well, why do you think he isn't headed for the HOF?

I can name quite a few guys who should have had later waits to be called into the HOF than others.

Just because a mans fighting style isnt entertaining, doesnt mean it should be held against them. Its what they accomplish is what should matter.
