an exaample i would give would be Shannon taylor v Julian Holland (if memory serves me right).Shannon complained about the stoppage and said he was covering up though he was certainly hurt prior to ear muffing.i thoought at the time the stoppage was a bit premature and Taylor reckoned in the states it would not have been stopped.
the other thing thaat has to bee accounted for is ok-a fighter is ear muffing(like roy was0.say danny stopped punching and roy stopped e/m but being on dodgey legs danny starts wailing again then roy e/muffs again etc etc. how long should a ref let that go on.clearly IMO if danny had of relented the other night and roy tried to find footing he was leaving himself open to being clocked badly.withouut legs he would of no doubt earmuffed again. does the ref take into account what the status of a fighters legs are when he is not just leaning on the ropes and e/m. thoughts?????
by the way-i apologise for the overuse of the term earmuffing but i like it
