Media couldn't be bothered.
Had it been 1 or 2 weeks before a fight, manager Khoder & he would've made sure media made a song & dance out of it.....bigger than 'contact lens in the soup' scenario

He won't challenge Vic. Vic's too much a risk at that weight. Surely there's a small Argie with a 13-12-2 record.

Mundine has lost the plot. as reported in todays melbourne age he wants to be kown as mundine the "Pioneer" not the man  He want to be the first boxer in aust to win 4 world titles in diff weight divisions, so i believe he opted for the easy way in to fight Medley, no disrespect medley is a great fighter, but i cant see him beating mundine, if mundine thinks he is in the same legue as Vic, Green etc... get over to the states and fight Pavlik, Sturm, even move nth to light heavy, and fight Dawson etc... thats rite he never will get to the states and fight champions.....

I think that you need to win a WBA or WBC belt in different divisions to be considered a real champion. Or at least WBO or IBF. None of this IBO crap.

The way he is going, probably welterweight.

How the hell is he going to fight as a junior middleweight? He looks Biafran as a middleweight!

Is Anthony Mundine a man or a mouse?

AFTER Anthony Mundine controversially stole Daniel Geale's IBO middleweight title in May, the boxing world was cynical about the Man's intention to give his vanquished opponent a rematch.

And they would have been feeling justified last night, when the IBO revealed Mundine will relinquish the belt instead of complying with its order to fight Geale again.

While the Tasmanian's protest failed to have the result overturned, IBO delegates ruled that a rematch had to take place prior to February 27 next year because the first bout was so evenly split.

But the IBO's Australian delegate Phil Austin confirmed Mundine does not intend to comply, meaning the belt will be handed back in the coming weeks. "He's decided to relinquish the belt," Austin said. "Anthony is now dropping down to junior middleweight.

"It will become officially vacant when he sends in his bands for his next fight [against Robert Medley] on 11 January."
Medley and Geale are stablemates of Grange Old School Boxing. Many insiders believe Medley has only become Mundine's next opponent because the former NRL star needed to appease Grange for not giving Geale a rematch.

The pair will fight in Sydney, and the heavily tattooed Medley is considered a dangerous prospect for Mundine at the lighter weight division. Austin said Geale would automatically get the first shot at regaining his belt early next year. An opponent for the soon-to-be vacated title is yet to be confirmed.

"We installed Daniel Geale as a mandatory opponent for Mundine by 27 February next year, because we had high regard for his ability," Austin said. "It was a close fight and he deserved another chance."

Controversy shadowed Mundine's third world title, with the three judges awarding the 34-year-old a split decision.

On the day after the fight it emerged that Mundine supporters had heckled and pressured one of the judges, British official Marcus McConnell, while he was scoring between rounds. McConnell was one of two judges who awarded the fight to Mundine, 115-113, but vehemently denied the verballing had any influence on his scoring.

I saw Mundine at a funeral a few weeks ago. He's looking very thin and drawn. I don't know much about Medley but I'm convinced any strong light-middle will give him a run for his money at that weight.
