It was the same when Bernard Dunne was champion. He was the regular champ, Poonsawat was the 'interim' champ and Caballero was the super champ all under the WBA banner. It's reasons like this that I now actually rank WBO above WBA on the big belts list.

good to see khan so fast and focused and purposeful. i don't think salita is any good, but this is the right way to dispose of a nuisance mandatory. good way to boost your PPV selling power - demolish your opponent.

i want to see him vs maidana, a dangerous puncher. i know maidana is mandatory or top contender or whatever. however, maidana might be persuaded to step aside to khan can have a lucrative fight against marquez or hatton. and maidana did lose to kotelnik, so it's not the biggest "gain" fight.

i'd like to see khan v marquez - and if successful it gives him more bargaining power vs ricky hatton - on the downward slope but a good name who can sell PPVs and sell out arenas. it would be annoying if marquez and hatton faced each other, then...

i'm actually getting interested in khan's career now.

Don't think so myself. Khan's chin let him down against Prescott. May very well let him down in the future. But I'd expect him to outpoint Mitchell fairly easily.

Now that Mitchell is up at lightweight, I'd love to see Murray-Mitchell though. Clearly won't happen, but still. It'd be a cracker.
i agree. khan has moved far past prescott. warren has got one over on khan who has left him, by having mitchell beat prescott, it seems.

Its easy to forget he is only 22 too. If he can keep improving and getting stronger under roach, we could be in for some exciting years ahead.

Poor Dimitry. Seems like a nice kid. Though saying 'I wasn't hurt I was just stunned.' :o Sounds like he still is.

Me neither but it fits the bill for a first fight in the states, well known name possibly coming of a win, title fight......
Ya but I'm hoping it's Diaz who would fit that bill

8, 9 and 10 were pretty close rounds cause Mitchell seemed to be taking a breather. I edged 8 and 9 to Prescott and thought he just about won the 10th, then the 12th was his too. That with the 3rd round which he won and the 5th which I gave him also made it a draw. I can easily see someon given even or even in favour rounds to Mitchell in 8 or 9 though.

I'm guessing 8 and 9 would be the main difference between my scorecard and those who scored it 116-112 to Mitchell.

Simpson walked through Bell's shots and made Bell fight his fight on the ropes good performace by Simpson a fight against Lindsay would be brilliant. Mitchell looked disciplined and showed good boxing skill's to defeat Prescott who looked to run out of ideas and just has a very poor defence and his accuracy was terrible even though Mitchell was good with his head movement he should of landed more. The main event was a bit of an anti-climance Khan came out looking patient and landed a super fast left hook right hand, Salita never recovered from that and looked far out of his depth. The 3 Olympians all looked good picked there shots well and look powerful.
