Former world champion Alex Arthur's comeback was derailed by a surprise eight-round points defeat against Nigel Wright in Newcastle on Saturday night.

The Edinburgh veteran, 31, had moved up to lightweight as he attempted to rebuild following the crushing defeat by Nicky Cook last year that saw him lose his WBO super-featherweight title.

Says he was out of shape. So obviously he isn't serious about the comeback. He should stay quit then. Hasn't been the same since the Foster Jnr . fight anyway. Best years well behind him. He should quit now before it get embarrassing .
