Prime Lennox Lewis V Prime Joe Bugner

Post by ThatOne »

I see Lennox winning a boring, one sided decision.

I don't see Lennox knocking out the extremely careful Joe Bugner.

lewis would be too big and strong for bugner.

it would be boring with lewis staying at distance and buger staying defensive so he wouldnt be caught with a big shot

Too big? Bugner was about Lennox's height and while light early in his career showed in the 80s he could go up to the 240s like Lewis did and be solid.

Bugner's jab would give Lewis fits but he wouldn't fire it enough. Lewis in a 9-3 or 8-4 decision in a mostly boring fight with a few heated exchanges every now and then.

bugner wasnt solid he was either fat or lost some speed

lewis's frame is a lot bigger than bugners

Bugner was 6'5 230. Here's him fighting Ali. He doesn't look fat just boring. Nol to say he was a bad fighter:

why is it always a prime lewis versus a prime contender?

make this shit more interesting, the Lewis that beat Frank Bruno vs a prime Joe Bugner, would be a real give and take fight

I think you've summed it up well there.

I see a distance fight with a unanimous decision for Lewis, with few fireworks to note.

Good call.

Lewis was very reckless & aggressive pre McCall 1.

As mercman points out, that's just not true. Bugner was a very big guy.

The Lewis that fought Bruno vs peak Bugner

that would be a cool fight. I think Lewis JUST wins, but
boy Joe would make it interesting, provided he went at
Lewis and worked behind his jab. I think it is Lewis's power
that would slow Bugner up and take the fight, but a good
stiff and acttive jab is the answer to Lewis in my opinion.

Which is why I think he struggled vs Bruno and at times to
Tucker. And which is why I think Holmes, Ali and...Bowe
would make him work hard all nigh.

Speaking of Bugner....anyone got video of Bugner when he made a comeback in the 1990's? I couldt believe how good he was, getting the Aussie title and all in his 40's and 50's.

Kym, I enjoyed alot of the Patterson fights you put up on YouTube, it would be great if you could do the same for Bugner. Myself, I wanna see the Bugner-Mavrovic bout.

You'll be disappointed, Rufus, as it wasn't Mavrovic he fought.

It was Big Bob Mirovic.

I do not have the Mirovic - Bugner fight.

Collins do you have it in your extensive collection ?
will it be a Zendo59 addition?
