Macklin v Pavlik?
There was a lot of talk on RTE last night about a potential Pavlik-Macklin fight at Madison Square Garden on Paddy's Weekend. They were saying that 'Pavlik's people' have booked the arena for the date with him as their main target. True? Rubbish? I would have thought that MSG could have been booked for a potential Duddy-Chavez Jr. fight perhaps with Arum promoting, perhaps with Pavlik involved, maybe? Anyone know what's going on here?

Records would suggest so but Macklin is "game as a pheasant and tough as old boots"NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i think Pavlik would have him personally.

macklin via ko
Re: Macklin v Pavlik?
I imagine this will be similar to Lockett-Macklin, Macklin hasn't done anything to suggest he is top world class, if it does happen I hope he gets a Lockett size payday

That phrase is going to grow and grow you knowsligobhoy67 wrote:Records would suggest so but Macklin is "game as a pheasant and tough as old boots"NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i think Pavlik would have him personally.
I think Macklin stands an outside chance in this, Pavlik is slipping and Macklin certainly has the power.
The Pirog fight will reveal a lot, if Macklin is good enough to win that he stands a real chance.
