I'd go with Mitchell after this last performance of him. Shown me he cant adjust and Tibbs and Mitchell seem to work brilliantly with each other. Mitchell has made a good move going with Jimmy Tibbs.

Be a very good fight Mitchell showed very good boxing skills and disapline but Murray is a better fighter than Prescott, Prescott has more power but Murray is better all-round I would have to go for a hard fought points win for John Murray

props to mitchell. he delivered great movement, not so many punches, but very disciplined and this will serve him well. terrific left hand, slightly telegraphed right hand. mitchell always should have been a lightweight.

it's tempting to pick mitchell, as he stepped up and delivered - as can be seen in poll results. however, he was given the opportunity and john murray wasn't. mitchell has got one over on khan and has earned a world title shot. i believe that IF john murray is given the chance, then he will deliver too.

always thought the great domestic fight would be murray-mitchell. as to murray-khan, khan could fight marquez or hatton. he doesn't "need" anyone particularly and because of his medal he will be the draw. soon he will have the big american money behind him, and it'll be hard for murray - who doesn't have loads of money behind him - to catch khan's eye.

i think when mitchell goes back to his natural style, when he unleashes say an ambitious combo, he will be standing right there for the reply, his hands will be down and he'll be open. murray-mitchell would be an amazing battle and i hope they both bring something big to the fight, so that it's worth it for both excellent british lightweights. about a decade ago there were great fights 5 pound north, neary-holligan, the ayeys-dunne-rigby battles, dunne-schwer. murray-mitchell could be better than those fights, potentially.

I dont think Mitchell will go back to 'his natural' style' of hands down standing there open. Under Jimmy Tibbs Im sure he'll stay disiplined and I believe Tibbs is getting Mitchell his natrual style now in the eduated way he boxed Prescott

i just think he was doing all that moving, and was told to stay away in the last round, because of the threat that was prescott's power. i don't think he will move that much in other fights, despite proving that he's an accomplished boxer last night. for instance, against someone whose power he is not worried about, i see him in exchanges and taking the big head shots again. not as many as in the johanesson fight, though.

but that was good boxing from mitchell. it was an impressive performance, he can go on to fight for a world title, and he can say "i beat someone who destroyed amir khan."

will be interesting if murray hammers the european champ, and then beats gavin rees, who apparently wants to fight him. rees IS a former world champion, the m'baye fight did happen, and so this could perhaps vault murray up some rankings. murray looked a bit nifty last time out, showed some neat boxing and i'd think is ready to do something big, himself.

i agree des1. i think we will see a new mitchell after last night's performance. he will become a boxer/brawler instead of just brawler. his boxing skills have always been underrated

Helluva fight. Has to be 50-50 at the moment.

I guess on of them would have to win a world title to bring Hennessy & Warren together to make this fight.

Hope it happens soon though as it's a cracking fight domestically.

Mitchell UD.

He'll be able to take the power of Murray, and i think he's the neater boxer.

I think it would be a great all British fight and very hard to pick.

I think if Mitchell could handle Murrays relentless combo's and pushng forwards for the fist 5 or 6 rounds than I can see Mitchell pulling through and either winning late on or by narrow points decision. Mithchell proved that he can take shots by natturally bigger guys last night. Murray is far more skilled than Prescott though so might pose a bigger threat than Presscott.

Hopefully it can happen soon :box:

I`d go for Murray to bust him up in a cracker.
Mitchell wouldn`t be allowed to get away from Murray like he easilly did with Prescot.

I think we all know beyond doubt that the Khan result flattered Prescott hugely.

Would have to go for a Murray points win. Murrays relentless pressure wins for me.

true, but what a way to build mitchell.

i go for murray due to his more efficient style and his extra strength. mitchell definitely more mobile. vs prescott, i thought mitchell's movement was a tad excessive, and he couldn't throw many shots. good, good job by him and his team. but it didn't look like his natural style.

Prescott was made out to be an all mighty puncher when he is not (i said this before mitchell fight and no1 listened)
murry would put him under more pressure 50/50 fight

I think Mitchell would feel more confident to mix it with Murray, which would cost him.

Under Tibbs though he will just get better and better, so there is that factor.

Mitchell fights well and has plenty of heart. He`s not afraid to turn it into a tear up and that would be his downfall against a big lightweight like Murray. I don`t see Mitchell having the power to trouble Murray to be honest, whereas I see Murray certainly having teh power to hurt Mitchell. Would be a cracking fight though.

good grief what a question.

well first up I'd have no money on it thats for certain.

I'm a bit of a fan of Mitchell, I like how he conducts himself and after his ballsy showing not to fold under severe pressure from Johanneson, and now this weekend.

I'd want Mitchell but I'd lean towards Murray, as he maybe slightly fresher. However, Mitchell was more sprightly than I expected on Saturday.

In a nut shell.....an absolute pick 'em. Mitchell mind you, has overcome greater adversity in the ring than has Murray to this point I think. He also has a cooler head imo. That could be telling.

wouldn't it have been a bit of a nightmare, with warren claiming options on prescott, potential lawsuits/trouble/aggro?

props to mitchell, he got the chance and he did it. i've never seen him move like that or look so controlled. he made a considerable leap up in class, and delivered when given the opportunity. after all that time off and the injury as well. what a night for him, and i hope he wins a world title.

anyway, murray has some good work ahead of him, the Euro route vs mezaache. let's see if he can really raise his stock, perhaps defend vs a former world champ like rees, and hopefully force some kind of big fight.
