Girlfriends at boxing shows....
Why is it that boxing seems to attract shuch a high number of scrutters to it's shows? When posters go to the boxing do you take your girlfriends as trophies wearing as little clothing as possible? I've only ever seen this practice at fights and at no other types of entertainment?!
Still, not complaining

I didn't know either, but apparently it's "a scrag and a slut in one package!"feargalocuinneagain wrote:My woman goes to soccer, Gaelic football, hurling and also boxing. Loves the excitment but would never watch a fight on TV. I don't know what a scrutter is but I'm sure it's not pleasant!

Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
i think there maybe wannabe wags . i even get quite a few at my white collar shows , dressed in next to nothing , they sometimes pass their phone number saying " i can do better than those ring girls , give me a call " etc etc , my mrs is my financial person , sorting ticket monies out etc , so shes at my events , so unfortunately the numbers end up in the bin
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
A boxing event is the one time in the world I try not to check out other blokes Mrs's!
Although as you say, it is sometimes difficult, so in the summer I may start taking sunglasses.
On another note, I feel sorry for some of the ring girls sometimes. They get some stick at the VIP events.....show us ya monkey etc Probably one of the few places where lads can get away with comments like that nowadays and always brings about a few guilty chuckles![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Mine's been to the last two fights but they were fairly big events so she wanted to experience it and all that bollocks. She didn't get too tarted up and she was suprised by the aggressive atmosphere (especially at the Khan - Kotelnik fight).
Wont be in a rush to take her again soon cos she gets bored watching all the fights but one advantage is girls seem to get served at the bar quicker than lads at these shows.

Is she a rather butch lumberjack shirt wearing kind of girl.
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
I tend to take mine when there is no way I can wangle a lads trip out of it. Doesn't dress like a slapper though.
Lots of gangsters moll types at boxing events though, I agree, particularly in Liverpool recently.

The effort some of these girls put in is unbelievable.
Cleverly v Oakey in Everton Park Sports Centre and there's girls dressed like it was a Milan catwalk.
Im not a fan of females at shows. I wish I could jus be surrounded by knowlegable sober guys who don't scream pointless instructions like "Hit em back"

on the same wavelength as you there mate. A nice looking girl with a brain in her head. Types that look a bit thick and would end up with any meathead, roid-head, gangster, smack-dealer etc etc...really do absolutely nothing for me. In fact trash is how I see them.
I've taken my Mrs to shows where we have friends boxing but I wouldn't take he otherwise she'd be bored. Whereas I could quite happily sit through 12 fights as long as I sneaked out for a cheeky pint or 2 at some point.
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
Nah as you know you get a lot of morons at fights these days and with her being a typical fiery latina biker chick who isn't scared of speaking her mind(to her a spade is a spade and a pudendum is a pudendum) when somebody is out of order we get the hostile crap coming our way.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:"what kind of pussy ass stoppage was that??"......kind of thing lol?banjo wrote:Rarely ever take her to shows, she can't behave herself.

There was a fox at the Pat McAleese card in Newmarket a few weeks ago. Gorgeous, slim, tall, dark haired. She sat near me talking to two old fellas.
Anyhow, I unfortunate enough to see this angelic faced 20 something, who had pristine dress sense, classy looking, subtle beauty speak.
"Fkk off, you fkking joker!!!!"
She'll never taste my mum's scones.

I followed my mate to Scotland a couple years ago. He came in to chants of "slot the English B*stard, kll the English B*tard"......(come to Scotland it said in the brochure lol)banjo wrote:Nah as you know you get a lot of morons at fights these days and with her being a typical fiery latina biker chick who isn't scared of speaking her mind(to her a spade is a spade and a pudendum is a pudendum) when somebody is out of order we get the hostile crap coming our way.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:"what kind of pussy ass stoppage was that??"......kind of thing lol?banjo wrote:Rarely ever take her to shows, she can't behave herself.

I was sitting with my girlfriend and his girlfriend. I thought he was winning a good fight, I was later told the ref would have given it the other way (homer), only he did the biz with not long to go. Suddenly all three of us are getting stared down and verbally abused by 10 angry lads over the "robbery", even the 2 birds, which I thought was a bit unnecessary. Later on some other poor geezer was getting a pasting in the toilets by a gang of em, that sort of atmosphere. We didn't beat about the bush that night, straight in the car and off, with a "W"

Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
I took my girl to Dodson/Quigley and she wasnt slightly interested.
She asked if she could come to Smith/Quigley and I refused. She had a little moan so I jus told her if she wanted to go somewhere that bad then she could go out and buy her own ticket. Just let me go with some friends.
Honestly, If ya can't enjoy Quig and Doddo then what on earth would tickle your fancy??????
Jus leave well alone. This isn't a sexist rant by the way, Im all for Women at boxing as long as they know what they're there for, jus dont use the event to show off a short dress or new haircut like your at the MGM grand or something.
Young lads wearing suits at boxing is another thing that does my head in. I reckon every young lad you see wearing a suit is at a boxing show for the first time in their lives. I was at Newcastle on Saturday to report on Bellew and Smith and I seen this group of lads in their mid twenties. All had suits on and all looked like tossers.

i had my suit jacket on in Sunderland 6 weeks ago (cos it was fckin cold!) with a pair of jeans. Rather that than some gawdy Henry Lloyd stripey topped chav.
You wouldn't catch me in shiney ponce shoes, suit, with a pile of gel on me barnet looking like a fool.
less, is more.

I can't wear a suit, I look so much like a defendant going to see the judge.

I like looking at the fillies at the boxing, from the skanks to boxer's wives.
Steve Roberts missus had a lovely white trouser suit...there was a time the wife always wore a white suit, it was the uniform for their role - would have been about 2001-2003.
