wouldn't it have been a bit of a nightmare, with warren claiming options on prescott, potential lawsuits/trouble/aggro?

props to mitchell, he got the chance and he did it. i've never seen him move like that or look so controlled. he made a considerable leap up in class, and delivered when given the opportunity. after all that time off and the injury as well. what a night for him, and i hope he wins a world title.

anyway, murray has some good work ahead of him, the Euro route vs mezaache. let's see if he can really raise his stock, perhaps defend vs a former world champ like rees, and hopefully force some kind of big fight.

murry has been in the game a long time and deserves all the chances he can get if he takes them

Mitchell wouldn`t be allowed to get away from Murray like he easilly did with Prescot.

I think we all know beyond doubt that the Khan result flattered Prescott hugely.

but murray isn't a puncher. mitchell would catch him way tto easy. i think your dwelling on only kev's fight with prscott he can do exactly what murray does but with more power and a better chin

prescott is "just" a very strong, heavy handed guy with no real skills. mitchell did great to beat him, and will get better.

personally, i always fancied murray to beat mitchell - in a cracker. murray is very controlled and he does parry and block. his shots are very accurate and his pressure purposeful. mitchell appears considerably faster. but good pressure can deal with this. murray showed some extra dimensions in his last fight, looking lean and stylish. both are clearly underrated as boxers, and there would be some brutal back-and-forth exchanges.

i always saw mitchell as a lightweight, always prefered murray-mitchell to murray-khan as a hardcore fight fan. hopefully murray can have a big 2010.

And I go for Mitchell in that fight aswell after Saturday's showing. Katsidis got dropped by Graham Earl dont forget and Mitchell I'd say is a more hurtfull, quicker and harder puncher than Earl

I would have to say that Katsidis would be too powerful and damn right tough for Mitchell. It would be a brutal affair. Although if Mitchell turned the clock back like he did Saturday who knows.

Fan of Kevin Mitchell, balls of steel and comes across well.

As for Katsidis, not seen a massive amount of him but his fight with Casamayor was thrilling. That's one of the best finishes I've ever seen and if anybody wants to read an interesting account of Casamayor then I would recommend "In The Red Corner" - A Journey into Cuban Boxing by John Duncan.

The Casamayor chapter is bloody fantastic.

glad that katsidis has been brought up. it now seems that katsidis - whom murray wanted - is on mitchell's radar.

katsidis wants marquez but i doubt marquez makes 135 again.

one thing about mitchell. to reiterate, wonderful movement. but i reckon he had to take a lot off his shots. only a couple of times did he really turn over his hooks. great shots they were. all i'm saying is when he's moving, sometimes he throws off balance. and i think he got a bit too much credit - at least over the first half - for hitting prescott's gloves, and controlling the range without landing clean punches...mitchell was outstanding over the 2nd half though, in which i gave him 5 of the last 6 (on top of his 3 of the first 6).

i just think he will cash out up in weight, vs ricky hatton.

i don't think JMM will hang around for the likes of katisdis, mitchell or murray, not when he can make lots more money vs a faded big name.

one thing i really appreciate about mitchell's win. the improvement with jimmy tibbs. he did it without the expensive american trainer, and put on world class boxing, especially over the 2nd half. clearly roach has done wonders for khan, but it's not like everyone needs a trainer from the states in order to succeed.
