Ah perfect D.G - afer 3 initial posts - it's made it to 3 pages and all about Hatton/Witter and you had the last word as usual. Normal balance is restored..

no the truth is he is two weight champion fought zoo and everyone thought he wass gonna get hammered and didnt...defended his title against credible opponents both here and abroad.
the truth is he will go down in history as one of the finest fighters this island has produced
the truth is fools like you cant wait to knock folk who get to the top, its a british disease, ffsake even DG is aggreeing with whcih is defintiely the first sign you are mental.
No shame in failing aginst the likes of pbf and pac..when was the last time you can recall a Brit fought another genuine P4P number 1...honeygun 20 plus years ago..? And thats debatable also...

Witter Vs HAtton at Welter would be good for the Brits, but whwn has tht ever mattered to Hatton?
oh, thats right dennis.
whereas the evil hatton has only his own interests at heart.....
the benevolent witter is just all about the fans, isn't he? what a long series of classic wars he gave us lucky boxing fans.
no wonder he's so popular amongst us. and aren't we all lucky that he's been thinking of us, all this time.

Re: junior witter (what next)
He ran from Witter yet fought Pacquiao, Mayweather and Tszyu? Even Castillo, Collazo and Malignanni were bigger tests IMO.DG. wrote:CheckHook wrote:Witter could comeback at 147 and probably put himself in contention for a belt, but if he goes in with a solid world class opponent he'll be a step behind and get beat. Witter has built a reputation of Hatton. His resume is decent, nothin more, everytime he stepped up to fight a current world class fighter he got comprehensivly beaten. Maybe if he'd kept his mind on his own career instead of Hatton's he might've had more success.
Witter did what fighters always do, chase the money fight!
Hatton put several conditions for Witter to meet, Witter met them and Hatton ran like a biaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatch!
Hatton waited for someone else to do his dirty work, Hatton waoted almost a decade for it to Happen!
Some great performances - especially Harris - but he was always a tier below Hatton. No charisma, no heart..

He FOUGHT NOBODY GREAT?diggler wrote:the truth about hatton is that he fought no one great or really good apart from a past it kt barely or luckily got past collazo and got kod by manny and pac
GREAT
Mayweather
Pacquaio
Castillo
Tszyu...
All hall of famers...........wtf?
GOOD:
Malignaggi
Collazo
Phillips
Hell, you could even argue Eamon Magee, Jon Thaxton and Juan Lazcano were pretty good...
Totally unfair...
He should retire, and yes he had a lot of easy fights early on, but he still fought some great guys...

Re: junior witter (what next)
good post, totally agreeCheckHook wrote:I appreciate what everyones saying about Hatton Witter, but at the end of the day Hatton isn't going to be remembered for his WBU fights, he went well beyond that level and well beyond Witter's level. This idea that Hatton spent his career avoiding Witter doesn't hold much weight when you consider what Hatton did and who he fought. If you keep winning you quickly become unavoidable. Witter fell at every hurdle. Good British boxer with some credible wins on the world stage but far from the fighter he has sometimes been painted to be off the back of Hatton.DG. wrote: Also. Checkhook. The wbu challengers were not better than witter. Hatton knew witter would derail him and that meant no bug paydays for Hatton

It's a shame that a thread dedicated to Witter doesn't discuss the guy within his own right.
Hot and cold springs to mind when he is mentioned - although a certain short stubby night club singer/comedian comes to mind.

Re: junior witter (what next)
Wouldn't be surprised if a Khan chance came up.
However, age is against him now, especially with his style, and not including the non efforts he tends to show up and produce .
I think he can still mix it at British level, but unless he can land the Khan fight and produce a humdinger, he's out of the picture on the world scene.
I think he'd even struggle with McCloskey to be honest.

Wricky vs Witter. It's not too late
Hatton fed on a whole body of smaller men on the night.
Witter better come back soon. A Khan fight would be good if Khan stays in the UK! Even at lt welter!

Whose this fella called Wricky - sounds like a good matchup for Witter.
So good, in fact, it needs to be posted a couple of times to generate interest.
