British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
There have been some great fights over the year but which one stood out to you and why?
I have my stand out favourite but won't say anything until I see what other opinions pop up.

Would like to give a mention to Dodson/Quigley back in March and Paul Samuels/Cello Renda last month. Both excellent fights.
Re: British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
theres been a lot of quality ones like rhodes v moore but the best one for me is easily tony quigley v tony dodson both men left it all in the ring, there was a great atmosphere and it was a great show aswell

Long after we speak about the others - we'll remember the Samuels v Renda fight.

rogan v sexton 1 was a decent scrap toodiggler wrote:i forgot abot rogan skelton what a war

has to be. the shots they were landing were world class power shots.Counter-puncher wrote:rhodes - moore, hands down, for me![]()

ironically, i felt that williams v martinez were flapping, lunging and holding in their over-the-weight thriller. i really liked the changes in momentum of rhodes-moore, the body punching, the compact shots, and the contrast of styles. and the result surprised me a fair bit.

mmmmmm now let me think .....
Re: British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
I'm with the majority of ye. Rhodes-Moore was a thriller and if it had of been on the World Stage it would prob be a good contender for overall fight of the year. Jamie in defeat earned so much respect and hopefully he will have his day at Middleweight, wouldn't mind seeing him come over to Ireland again to have a fight, he has a good following over here.As for Rhodes, he went rolling back the years in that fight and showed he still has 'it'. Two true warriors who would have left everything in the ring that night.
Re: British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
Rogan-Skelton for me followed by Samules-Renda and Moore-Rhodes
Re: British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
I think they're all worthy contenders personally.
The Renda v Samuels was a personal fave.
Short and fierce !

it was on the nigel wright ajose olusegan british an commonwealth title at the olympia in liverpool in june
toe to toe for 8 rounds no holding or clinching an absolute cracking fight i was looking forward to seeing williams again but he hasnt been out since, hees got a good all action crowd pleasing style and looks like he can punch an box a bit aswell

Re: British [Domestic] Fight of the Year
To me personnally- I wouldn't argue these were the fights of the year, but I enjoyed them:Deno1986 wrote:There have been some great fights over the year but which one stood out to you and why?
David Price V David Ingelby - An interesting debut, in which Ingelby was holding his own well- only for Price to end it with a brilliant one-punch KO.
Anthony Small V Matthew Hall- one of the few fights with a build up that genuinly added to the appeal of the fight.
right now, other than those already mentioned (Rhodes V moore, Renda Samuels , dodson Quigly and Rogan Skelton) I can't think of many more.
ITV shows? Did they produce any * ers?
Edit!! FUNNY!!!
I orginally wrote The work "rackers" with a c in front- means novelty pull-things that bang used at Chrismas, or a good fight - and the computer has censored it!!
