Can't see Haye being on normal tv. Haye did massive numbers on box office if he gets five pounds for every buy why would he want to fight for a small purse on itv. Itv has massive financial problems.

When I think of ITV execs I am always reminded of the scene in Anchorman where Ron is trying to explain what jogging entails.

The word on the street is Haye made a minimum of £5m from PPV.
Now we all know David loves the limelight, and in truth he's the best PR Boxing Guru out there at the moment, but does he need terrestrial coverage of his fight to achieve that ?
I don't think so. He generated enough PR interest on terrestrial for the last fight without it actually being shown free to air.
ITV is virtually bust.
How could ITV possibly match Haye's PPV earnings potential ?
I personally think all this last hurrah about ITV maybe still covering boxing is paper thin.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong, and that Meaty Mick can persuade them otherwise or suddenly they find the resources to make Haye an offer he can't refuse.
All of our lead Promotors need TV deals for their stable to thrive.
I worry for Mick because there aren't exactly a lot of options out there.
Sky's book is full, with Hatton, Hearn, Maloney and maybe Wazza although the position there is unclear.
I haven't personally tried Primefight, but reviews were very mixed.
Good luck to Mick I hope he finds a home very soon, and if it's ITV carrying on, then great.

Where else do you think the Channel derives income to pay for boxing ?
Advertising ? Not a prayer.
I thought the concept was to enrol members at £4.99 per month, and then you got a menu of what you could pick for the following month - with the number of views restricted.
I thought the channel was going into pop concerts, live comedy gigs etc as well as sport.
Or maybe I just dreamt that ? ......

David Haye is a sensible guy & I believe that if ITV were to approach him, he'd consider a deal.

He'd never get as much money as he'd get from SKY, but the trade off is that he would get more viewers & support & I think that Haye wants to be the biggest name in British sports.

I hope ITV will stay with boxing and show the solid hennessy shows. otherwise you'd think murray and barker would have to go for the american TV money. which carl froch has certainly landed.

if not, i hope he gets back on sky. sky has been great of recent but there is room for improvement and perhaps room should be made for hennessy. get rid of those prize fighter shows, for one. most of the winners don't actually go anywhere. it's a bit upsetting to see hatton put on poor main events (matthew hatton-ndou, small-mcdonagh) despite them having interesting undercards; when hennessy, who usually has a solid main event and who can be counted on for a good trade fight, could be in the wilderness.
