Greatest shout at a show was "Hit him in the pancreas!"
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
I've picked up a lot of insight into the finer points of the noble art thanks to women fans. A particularly memorable piece of insight which I tend to use myself now was, 'Fuckin knack 'im'. I'm not sure if its true but I heard Floyd Mayweather Sr had taken her on as his assistant.

maybe the lads in suits are going on somewhere afterwards...thats what i thought anyway.
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....

I haven't taken my wife to any live shows, she gets bored very quickly watching a main event on TV so I doubt she'd be up for sitting through the undercard surrounded by a load of pissheads with their girlfriends that think Jordan is a style icon.

Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
I was at an amateur show last Sunday, and most of the birds are not great. Very much the white hair and orange faces brigade.
I always think boxing shows have a bit of an 'edge' to them and could kick off at any point, and most of this is down to the ladies. On Sunday I was standing in a bit of a walk-way and people kept coming past me. Every bloke would tap me on the shoulder, with a polite 'scuse me mate' and squeeze past. Every bird on the other hand, would whack into my shoulder trying to spill as much beer as possible whilst tutting very loudly.
They're not all like that but there are not many classy birds at boxing shows.

At Khan vs Kotelnik i had the pleasure of sitting in front of a bloke and his missus, she was as rough as a bears arse and was threatening to " f***ing kick off" ( her words) all through the show, they did nothing but argue over a lost camera, she really done my swede in and yes she was orange and twice as rough as jordan.MacTavish wrote:Why is it that boxing seems to attract shuch a high number of scrutters to it's shows? When posters go to the boxing do you take your girlfriends as trophies wearing as little clothing as possible? I've only ever seen this practice at fights and at no other types of entertainment?!
Still, not complaining

Funniest thing i ever saw at ringside, i went to a local town hall when i was young, Giant Haystacks was wrestling there, he was one of the biggest blokes i've ever seen, especially being a 12 year old at the time.
During one of the fights a woman at ringside kept getting up and screaming at Haystacks, she was rough as a badgers arse, face like boiled meat. At one point Haystacks had the opponent on the floor, this woman gave him another mouthful of abuse. Haystacks then walked over and gobbed into her face , then gave her boyfriend the middle finger. The boyfriend shat himself.
Pure class

For whatever reason ,seeing Giant Haystacks is still a highpoint of my younger days.
Re: Girlfriends at boxing shows....
seeing Marco Antonio Barrera is a highlight of my 2009 and will remain so for a while I think. Always cool under Khan's pressure. Wish a rematch could have been made.

My girlfriend is a quaker passafist... I'm pretty safe that she is unlikely to want to go to boxing.

Carl Froch's girlfriend is very beautiful and seems like a nice girl to boot. She got caught on camera during the Dirrell fight saying 'this guy is fighting like a fornicating fag.'
Nice.
Nice.
