Who is Lee Beard?

I know he is the Matthew Hatton's main trainer and was/is Ricky's assistant trainer and he seems to know what he is doing for a young, seemingly inexperienced trainer but where has he come from? Does anyone have any background info on how he got into training boxers, has he ever boxed himself etc. From what I've seen of him on 24/7 etc he seems to be a good guy but to me he just seems to have appeared from nowhere.

exactly what i thought

deno IMO its a cue for people with 'inside knowledge' to either deliberately or accidentally say all kinds of libellous stuff

you might as well title the thread 'please libel lee beard and/or Team Hatton' (persons unnamed who use phrases like 'i cannot say all that i know here, but take my word for it.... 'etc)

Well let's keep it simple.
Lee is 34 and from Salford.
I think his background was marshall arts before getting involved in boxing.
Ran his own Gym from about 27, but did a bit with Ricky in the Gym.
Obviously impressed and his career developed from there.
He's got a step son called Gonzales ? and I'm sure he trains over in the States with Mayweather Senior ?
Don't quote me on that but think it's right.
Don't know him, but never heard a bad word about the kid.
