Granted, Khan is pretty dangerous behind a steering wheel, but in a boxing ring against a world class boxer?

Having watched Diaz v Diaz, i think Juan would absolutely splatter Amir across the canvas.

Do these news paper writers who talk about how great Amir is ever seen Juan Diaz fight?
based on this weekend's developments at the 2007 world amateur championships...perhaps you brits should be pinning your future LW hopes on frankie gavin!! :TU:

The only Brits pinning their future hope on Amir Khan are those who are not die hard boxing fans and listen to Barry 'I'm on the payroll' McGuigan or allegedly allegedly's endless harping.

REal boxing fans know Khan is an accident waiting to happen.
I know what you mean, well said - Its like the guy at my local filling station - I said to him yesterday "its the big fight tonight, Joe Calzaghe" - His reply was "Joe who, I only watch Amir Khan fights" - The country is full of people just like him - What a shock they are in for when Earl sparks Khan on Dec 8th.

Earl only has 12 kayos, i know thats twice as many as Khans opponents usually have, but is he really the guy to do it?

My only sight of him was receiving a one-sided pasting from that Aussie. Looked a bit ponderous to me, tell me more about Earl...

I would love nothing more than watch Earl smash that cocky big gob hamed like prat to bits.
But trust me, Earl is way to slow to trouble Amir ( going the same way as Hamed ) Khan.
Khan will KO Earl inside five rounds with ease.

If Earl and Thaxton dont even make a fight of it, which seems hard to believe considering what happened v Limond, how about Yuri Romanov. He seems like a guy who can be behind then still do damage with 1 shot.

I fail to see how a guy who had a life and death struggle with Willie Limond is going to walk straight through Graham Earl in 5 rounds. Unless Earl is shot to shit - even then it's a longer fight IMO.

I guess we'll see in a little over a month.

The levels are so far apart it's almost like watching two different sports. I don't dislike Amir and wish him every success, but if he was ever going to reach the truly elite level, we'd be seeing a lot more from him already. I don't think his style suits the pros and he will be exposed very soon.

I am not exactly a Khan fan and if it wasnt for the fact that boxing on ITV seems to depend on Khans continued success, I would be quite happy to see him thrashed - The fact is Khans career is being followed by ITV just as Harrisons was on BBC and while he wins we will get an occasional night of boxing from them - If he loses and I fear he will, my bet is ITV wont televise anymore of his bouts - OK Earl hasnt got a big KO record but he does hit bloody hard, a lot harder than Limond and can take a heavy punch also - Khan is a lot faster than Graham and I expect to see him outwork Graham for the first few rounds but dont write him off - He is an accurate puncher and will exploit Khans defense and high chin - Fair enough Katsidis was too much for Earl but Khan is no Katsidis - Earl and Thaxton are the best domestics in the division and have huge hearts and determination so Khan is going to be in for one hell of a fight - I understand Graham is in top form and is well rested after his grueling fight with Katsidis and as for being shot or past his best dont believe it.

This thread is funny with some predicting Earl to KO Khan and Khan having no chance of being world champ.

I hope Khan fights Juan Diaz next :OhYes:

Yes, now that Diaz is shot and has suffered some life-shortening beatings whilst Amir was boxing hasbeens & never beens he seems tailor-made to now fight your icon Amir Khan...

Even Amir fans dont want him to face the best fighters out there!! 'wgos washed up enough to make our boy look good?'

You claim that his now washed up etc but it was OK for you to make comparisons with Diaz when he was older and more experienced than Khan !

clearly, the names khan and diaz connote different things to what they did in 2007. this should be an example of why boxing is not a static, unchanging thing. khan has come up and diaz may have come down.

if diaz can come back emphatically, you'd think him vs khan would be good, and lucrative, because they both have the right face to be an establishment fighter.

for me, diaz lacks the power to go with his pressure style, and lacks the willpower perhaps givne that he must impose himself on all his opponents. the ones that don't fold, that fight back, really trouble him.

Khan is yet to beat a live fighter the quality of Juan Diaz circa 2006-07.

Juan Diaz was only knocked out by a p4p elite fighter in Marquez who was on great form -- Amir Khan was knocked out by a limited journeyman.

Diaz, judging by his recent fights, is in disrepair. Amir's moronic fans rooting for Amir to fight shot fighters no longer at the top of their game underlines how low their standards are when it comes to Amir Khan fights.

You are the moron for implying that Khan will never beat Diaz
Diaz was knocked out by a superfeatherweight and i'd rather take a punch from Marquez than Prescott!

You can't comprehend the difference in levels between Juan Manuel Marquez and a man who was outboxed by Richard Abril, Miguel Vasquez and Kevin Mitchell. Typical chavvy Amir Khan fan who doesn't know sh#t all about boxing.

Again, point to a victory Amir Khan has over a Juan Diaz 2006-07 type, meaning an undefeated top ranked world class fighter.

You can't, because he hasn't beaten one yet.

Your icon is yet to fight an elite class fighter.

do you suffer from retardation?
I was comparing their power
Khan would outbox Prescott now and he would beat Marquez too.
BTW you will now say Marquez is old/shot and superfeatherweight?
Who do you think he should fight?

A so-called boxing expert that claimed Khan would never beat Diaz but now admits Khan would win because Diaz is shot :oo

Terminator...... I don't know how much more clearly I could explain this to you. Amir Khan would beat Wilfredo Benitez if they were matched tomorrow, hell, I'D beat Benitez if we fought tomorrow, but it wouldn't mean anything.

If Amir could beat Prescott as you claim, why hasn't he? Why fight Oisin Fagan? Why exhume Barerra? Do you think Prescott was unavailable?

Why talk about fighting a beaten & used up Juan Diaz when the lively Marcos Madaina is ready & waiting? Please explain. Are live dangerous opponents anathema to Amir Khan & his easy-to-please fanbase?

Khan hasn't beaten an elite world class fighter yet. He has boxed only one puncher & lasted all of 50 seconds. Let's see if he has the balls to face this hard hitting toughnut Madaina - I wonder what excuse he'll have for ducking that one? Maybe Kevin Mitchell can beat up Madaina for him? LOL.

If anyone checks out Terminator's contribution to Boxrec it's nothing but Amir Khan. He's clearly one of those chav-Khan fans who don't follow boxing on any level and blindly support whatever cynical career moves Khan takes to duck the dangerous fighters. You'll never see him chipping in on chats about proper fighters, Amir is his sole point of reference. Ever seen Salvador Sanchez? Azumah Nelson? Bob Foster? Carlos Monzon? Michael Spinks? Roberto Duran? Ismael Laguna? Ken Buchanan? Put your GCSE revision notes down & try learn something about real boxing, little boy.

Check how old the thread is Damien - it dates back to 2007.

It was exhumed for Dec 09 by an Amir Khan fan (not a boxing fan) who thinks beating Andreas Kotelnik and Dmitry Salita validates Amir Khans underwhelming career to date.
