Check how old the thread is Damien - it dates back to 2007.

It was exhumed for Dec 09 by an Amir Khan fan (not a boxing fan) who thinks beating Andreas Kotelnik and Dmitry Salita validates Amir Khans underwhelming career to date.
I am a boxing fan and have been following boxing way before Khan
My post on this forum tends to be about Khan as this forum tends to be anti-Khan.

What kind of boxing fan thinks Marcos Maidana is an elite world class boxer?

I actually agree with this.Im not a huge Khan fan myself but find myself sticking up for him on here as some of the bias against him is ridiculous. This goes for other boxers too(Hatton,Calzaghe..).And then you have the Boxrec favourites no-one will have a bad word against. For instance,Froch-Dirrell made Kotelnik-Khan look like Hagler-Hearns but you would never have guessed reading the posts on here. Also,Froch and Haye "just want to go in with the best"(Taylor,Valuev, etc),yet when Hatton says it(after PBF and Pac) he is a pr!ck.

im well aware its an old thread , but when the guy brought it back from the dead , he simply said how wrong your original comments were and that kahn would now beat diaz , the question the thread title asks , regardless of you saying diaz is now shot , you said you didnt think he could beat him if they fought in 2 years but admitted it would be a good fight , yet 2 years later you criticise someone for saying " oh hold on , kahn would beat this guy after all " i dont mean to sound like im being a prick or anything but the fact remains that your original posts are looking incorrect at this point although admittedly , in boxing theres no formalities

Now you're being a troll - dodging questions the way Amir dodges fights with punchers and putting words into peoples mouths is pure trolling.

Amir will be able to fleece the public with sham opponents like Salita as long as turds like this guy are here to obediently line their idols pockets.

Let's see how they justify him ducking Madaina...

Damien, I'm not wrong - Amir is yet to beat a top notch fighter, as Diaz AT THE TIME certainly was. I couldn't really anticipate the career shortening beatings Diaz would later suffer now could I?

Christ if someone had written to Boxing News in 78 saying 'oh John L Garder will never be good enoughto beat Muhammad Ali' you wouldn't reprint it two years later after Ali was finished and claim 'you were wrong! Gardner can beat Ali now!'

i've only just got interested in khan. i felt the barrera fight was a fraud. but he destroyed the WBA mandatory in the manner that we expect haye to destroy his own WBA mandatory. and he boxed well - albeit in a defensive/negative way - to win the title.

if he dumps the WBA strap, he surely will have something else lined up, i.e. another title holder. he'll not dump it and do nothing, will he? of course not.

also, who will be his american promoter? if it's GBP, they may convince maidana to step aside.

maidana is clearly a big problem, and when i was more "down" on khan, i was saying many of the things that ppl are saying now - that he'll "duck" maidana. but what if he takes a calculated gamble, vs someone like bradley, alexander, etc, who will probably concede to khan's terms in order to make their name? it will be just as good a fight as maidana, albeit vs a complete non-puncher (who nonetheless bring other qualities).

ok point taken there , anyway i only felt that you jumped down terminators throat too quick , he is imo right that kahn would beat diaz but your correct that kotelnik and salta are not world beaters , but i dont believe there bums either , nor do i feel that beating maidana will elevate kahn to world level , theres much more to do before that , but he has shown definate improvement and deserves his praise , i wasnt a fan of his before , i was one who questioned his chin etc but feel he has earned a little respect .

not sure bradley is a non puncher, sure hes no thomas hearns, but he punches with some authority, and is very good at bulling forward and applying pressure, he is also physically tough and seems to have a good chin.

id certainly have no problem with a bradley v khan fight.

I'd welcome a Bradley-Khan fight - he travels to peoples backyards and rips away their titles, hes undefeated, game, durable, will fight anyone and can overcome big punchers... So basically everything Amir Khan is not.

Anyone who thinks Froch-Dirrell 'made Khan-Kotelnik look like Hagler-Hearns' needs to follow a different sport, like Crown Green Bowls or something. An unbelievable statement.

Its truly an eye opener to hear from these passionate but mentally subnormal Khan fans. Their love for Amir + his complete contempt for them = an easy string of hand-picked hasbeens & never beens that couldn't be further away from authentic world championship boxing, yet priced top whack and his fans are supposed to just empty their wallets for this nonsense?

I can only conclude these Amir Khan fans don't actually want their idol to fight a real opponent & get hurt, they're happy to finance his bum of the month club and simply talk about how these wins mean something. Their love for Amir is so intense they'd probably shell out 15 brick on Sky PPV to watch him take a dump or crack one off.

I don't know how simpler or self-explanatory the term Khan fans could be.

It means: 'fans of Amir Khan'

Very funny. I mean, are you talking about particular people on Boxrec or people you've spoken to at the pub, etc.?

Boxrec posters like observer and termnator, and the lunatics at the sports cafe who were screaming, leaping up and down and wooping up Amir's. Kayo of Salita, whilst I was vomiting into my own pint class and self-harming at the sheer pointlessness of it all.

AAAAAGH U nfortunatly nut huggers are ruining boxing ...WHY...because they buy tickets to blatant mismatches shite fights and setups .
They worship guys like Khan who BLATANTLY call out then dodgfe better fighters . all because they can go home and say i was at the Amir fight and i spoke to his second cousins esecond cousin .

Regarding Diaz Khan may beat him now but he took the hard fights and he is not the same has he was , he was a GENUINE fighter Khan i'm SORY NTO SAY IS NOT

iN MUSICAL TERMS the beatles, the eagles, and numerous others, were and are, geat artists the spice girls whilst they sold records were manufactured and more for the teenage boy playing under the covers , and the teenage girl hoping they would play with her under the covers

Khan is the same he is a manufactuired world champ , sorry but true .

Now if he really wants to prove himself without fighting the real big names , Diaz is shot so he's no use but KATSIDAS IS STILL THERE AND dIAZ BEAT HIM

SO BRING IT ON KHAN ---KATSIDAS ,,, and you know wha6t i would'nt even complain about Khan having a weight advantage .....other than that GIVE PRESCOTT ANOTHER GO

Khan would dominate the light-punching Diaz. An ideal fight for Khan would be the winner of the Diaz-Maliganggi rematch. I don't like his chances much against Maidana, but he could probably beat Katsidis if he doesn't get caught.

Hmm, Diaz's 'light punching' has made a lot of class fighters quit on their stool. He might have been offed by Nate Campbell, and violently so by p4p great JM Marquez, but even a waning Diaz is a greater handful than Andreas passive pretender Kotelnik.

You can't say for sure Khan would handle even a shopworn Diaz because, to date, he hasn't beaten a young aggressive guy like Diaz. And lesser hitters have had Khan in deep trouble.

Diaz has proven a hell of a lot more than Khan - and when he lost he certainly didn't go sniffing around the pubs looking for a scrub like Oisin Fagan.

sheesh! what is your problem? If you dont like a boxer/fighter, you dont have to watch him. Concentrate on the fighters you support, no harm in that I promise!
Theres no need to diss every other poster on here just because they have an affinity towards a certain boxer, after all this is a boxing forum!
You start of this thread with a genuine decent question yet you do not allow any deversity of any answers?
Its clear that you have a strong hatred towards Amir Khan wether its racial or otherwise we dont care but at least give people a chance to answer your q. :shame:

id certainly have no problem with a bradley v khan fight.
the middle rounds would be very interesting, if/when khan starts to blow a bit (after fast start) and if/when bardley finds his range.

bradley will be a bit more insistent than kotelnik.

having watched Diaz v Marquez, it seems extremely unlikely that Amir Kahn would be risked against either of them
