Ahahaha....Vitali just described Johnson as having a 'stinky style'
Probably about right.

Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
Very disappointed with Johnston.
His performance was pathetic. He did nothing to try to win the fight at any stage of proceedings. He didn't try anything, he didn't risk anything, and at no stage did he look like he could possibly win. It wasn't just that he was dominated, but he absolutely acquiesced to that domination.
I gave every single round of that fight to Klitschko. I think, if the ten points must system had been on for each of the 36 minutes of the fight, I think Klitschko would have had at least a share of all 36. But that was as much because Johnston accepted that than that Klitschko was awesome.
Second, his attitude at the end of the fight was worse than his performance. What was he thinking? He has absolutely nothing to be proud of in that performance. To be sure, he survived, but that's all he ever tried to do. He didn't engage with Klitschko or risk anything. Arreola and Williams were useless and hammered, but they went out on their shield, never giving up until the end. Sure, Johnston outlasted them, but so what when he didn't put in the effort that they did? That's not something to be proud of, let alone to bad mouth and needle Klitschko at the end.
You need to take defeat like a man. Hate it; loathe it, for sure: but suck it up and take it with some honour. And you certainly don't act like a bitch if you've fought like in such a supine manner.

Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
The question really is what was Johnson doing in there in the first place?
I know the division is poor but he earned it through beating Bruce Seldon and Devon Vargas?????
I'm just waiting now to hear Johnson's post fight comments. No doubt:
I was robbed.
I was injured.
I saw Jesus.
I want a rematch.
I bust my hand.
He bit my ear.
OR
My shorts were too tight.
Will just be some of the possible excuses that Johnson will spew out! Bloody time waster.

Why? While your on the subject of shite, have you forgotten about Hayes sleep inducing win over Valuev? At least Vitali dominated his opponent and left no doubt. No way Haye sparks Vitali out in two.NutCracker wrote:What a complete and utter crock of shíte, Haye sparks the pair of them out in 2 rnds on the same night.
Haye had a slow, wide open and upright target in Valuev, Vitali had a very elusive spoiler who focused on nothing but defense.

i just don't trust wladimir's chin.
sooner or later haye would get thru with something and it would all go pear shaped for wlad.
vitali is a different kettle of fish though.

I can't see how Haye eeking out a win over Valuev , who is blatantly inferior to Vitali, is proof he would spark the Ukranian. I really can't understand the thinking there.crusader wrote:Why? Haye like Johnson waits too long to throw anything except he has more power and better accuracy. Haye dances more than punches. Vitali wouldn't allow him to dance out the way when he imposes himself and Wlad will spoil Haye would holding and Haye doesn't fight on the inside.
Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
I don't think Haye could beat Vitali, who for all his faults, is a hard bastard who uses his physical advantages well. But at the very least Haye will try to knock Vitali out. He's a gobby bastard at times, but he's a real fighter. No way would Haye be as negative as Johnson was tonight.

Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
Terrible performance by Johnson the biggest night of his career and he hardly threw just took all Klitschko's shots and tried to showboat, badly. I had it 120-108 to Klitschko there was 1 round that I could of gave to Johnson at a stretch. The undercard was very poor Banks looked good against a poor opponant and Ustinov looked terrible against Barrett, Barrett looked as though he wasnt intrested after he hurt his shoulder but Ustinov didnt take advantage I would be really surprised if Ustinov ever fought for a serious title. I wasn't impressed at all with him

Did anyone see the Banks fight???
the Ref Tash

Banks looks like he really can hit, took fury 3 rounds, didnt put him over anything like the way Banks dismantled him. I know Fury is a few years behind Banks Experienced wise i was just impressed..

Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
I had high hopes for Banks at Cruiserweight but Adamek ruined that, Banks really can bang and he is a nice boxer aswell when needs be. He is starting his career again at Heavyweight and hes still only 27 so I think he might be one to look out for at Heavyweight, get him in with some decent opponents and we will know a lot more about him but I think he can spring a few surprises in the division.Londonirish wrote:Did anyone see the Banks fight???

I think he (haye) will have Vitali worried thats for sure, Vitali hates coming forward - obviously against that clown last night that didn't effect him but against Haye it will with the counters flooding back in.hitman_hatton1 wrote:with what.overhand_right wrote:David Haye to beat Vitali.

I think Haye has the game for Vitali.
Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
much as i hate to say it, and i love david to bits, but he gets 'iced' by both klitschkos.
i will admit that he has a punchers chance against wladimir, thats all.

100% agree

or just one fight, where the oppponent was too big?
Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
does that mean he will use exactly the same tactics v the klitschkos?thaibox uk wrote:rhino222 wrote:much as i hate to say it, and i love david to bits, but he gets 'iced' by both klitschkos.

100% agreepeople are blinded by their dislike of the Klitschos to the point that they think Haye is some sort of second coming, The tactics against Valuev will not work against either brother and he,ll be even more worried about whats coming back at him than what the slow one dimensional Valuev threw.
methinks he gambles, tries to take their chin, in the big fights vs the K2s. if he runs and shows a lack of urgency in these fights i would be appalled. i just think he has to go for it, force a stoppage or an injury. or to just make a great case for himself, in defeat, so that when they are retired, he will be near the top. perhaps haye won't win, but perhaps he can dish out some punishment so that one or both of the bros retire a bit earlier, wear out a bit sooner.
let's face it, they are the 2 most boring major heavyweight champs in history. the sooner they are gone the better.

Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
Johnson is a very skilled HW, great defense, great speed, great jab but no real pop and thats why he couldnt keep Vitali off him. He tried to win the fight from the outside and look to roll and counter, when it didn't work he didn't have a plan B, but he never had the ability to slip inside and make it an inside fight, thats not what he does. I was shouting at the TV for him to throw right hands though, that should have been his money punch, you just can't beat Vitali at long/mid range with the jab
You have to give Vitali credit his outside game is near impossible to beat, mainly due to physical attributes ofcourse. If he had an uppercut he could have given Johnson a real beating
I've given up on Haye having a shot against either brother, he was a pile of shit against Valuev and Haye doesn't have a left hook or an uppercut

He,ll use the same tactics once he feels their strengh and power just like all the American fighters have done and as for boring theyre knockout percentages are as good if not better than any of the heavyweight champions, If theyre so limited why has nobody figured them out yet?
If they were American or British people would be loving em.
Lennox used the same tactics alot but people forget that when looking back.
Re: Round by Round - Klitchko v Johnston
This is a really good point and often overlooked. Lennox was never a master of in-fighting and was largely dependant on that thudding jab and big right. He had a bit more variety to his game, but against the likes of Tua he followed a very clear blueprint that is very similar to that employed by the Klits.thaibox uk wrote:Lennox used the same tactics alot but people forget that when looking back.
