A who's who of fat, meak, unfit garbage.

Vitaly Klitschko is the most over-rated heavyweight of ALL time.

He's dire.

He's tentative, flat footed, punches from the elbow like a novice, has no lateral movement, moves his head back in straight lines, has slow hands, no variety on his shots and generally is useless.

If David Haye throws fast straight punches in clusters he will decimate him.

Frank Bruno would have beaten him, stuck him on the end of the jab and cracked him with the right hand.

Vitaly Klitschko is a giant in stature and it is that, and that alone which has got him his current kudos. Because he is terrible.

He's the number #1 heavyweight in 2009, but Haye better hurry up before someone else summons some gumption and takes his head off.
Completely agree with you. I think he has the worst technique of any so called elite fighter i've ever seen. He is so tedious to watch its frightening. I fail to see how anyone cannot see how amateurish he is.

Johnson was a sin against those who precede him beneath the American banner. An aberration and still Vitaly looked hopeless.

Haye's people will have noticed that Vitali seemed very open to the counter right when he was trying to tee off against Johnson against the ropes. Johnson didn't quite have the timing, although he did manage it a couple of times (and kissed his right glove when it landed). The Haye team would also have noticed how badly Vitali was marked up, considering the small number of punches he took. I think Haye will adopt a similar approach to the one he used against Valuev - be highly mobile and defensive and look to launch sudden, precise attacks. He'll turn it into a low scoring contest, but make each of his shots count. If the right hand stays healthy, he could even get the stoppage with these tactics.

I think he may pot-shot early as you suggest, but I think by the third he wont be able to resist launching full multi-punch attacks. I have reservations about Haye still but Klitschko's showing at the weekend was pitiful.

I think David Price could go 10 rounds with him.

I cannot believe this fraud hasn't been smashed up before now.

There are so many ways to beat him, just every opponent has lacked the stomach to execute.

Him v Valuev would have been interesting. Note, I don't say exciting, I say interesting.

vitali can whack, has a great chin and has busted up much better men than haye for years.

haye was absolutely garbage against valuev, knocked down by barrett, mormeck, mock and twite.

haye is a charade....he exposed himself as a fraud against valuev and either of the klits will chew him up.

if vitali was that easy to beat then someone, apart from lewis, would have done it by now.

it's not rocket science.

What's you opinion of Haye's hand injury? You seem to conveniently ignore it whenever talking about the Valuev fight

I take it you haven't seen Haye's hand in the days after the fight? It was very swollen. The injury didn't miraculously clear up. When the adrenaline is pumping like that you forget that you're hurt.

I've chimed in about VK's merits in the past, but basically, his merits boil down to 1) he's tough because he wanted to fight on against Lewis 2) he's tall.

You cannot say he would give ANYONE in history a tough fight on the back of victories over

260 pound Kirk Johnson (who was 232 when stopping Maskaev in 4.)

235 pound Corrie Sanders (225 against brother Wladimir and had been in active for 13 months and was 38 when they fought)

260 pound Danny Williams - Danny earned this shot from beating Tyson of course.

254 pound Sam Peter - some credit for this, because of Klitschko's mysterious sabbatical which preceded it, amazing how drawn and thin he got during this period.

251 pound Chris Arreola - the hapless HBO hype job.

230 pound Juan Carlos Gomez - the forgotten Cruiserweight champion aged 36.

244 pound Kevin Johnson - who doesn't have a BEST win worthy of the title.

These fights are the ones which people build Vitali's credibility. In the ten years preceding Saturday night Vitaly has lost to Lewis and Byrd and beaten, Obed Sulllivan, Ed Mahone, Ross Purity, Larry Donald, Timo Hoffman and Vaughn Bean. It is a pitiful resume. Pitiful. To suggest anything other than straight forward victories for Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Liston, Louis is ridiculous. The guy has been the tallest guy out there with a decent chin. And thats IT.

i'm confused. so wasn't the adrenaline pumping between rounds 2-11? did it only switch on in the final round....and why wasn't there any pumping in the first round?

anyone backing haye to do anything of note in the heavyweight division is doing it solely because they share the same nationality.

I don't know guys, I want to agree with you but I'm also keen to avoid any revision here. Haye eeked out a despearetly close win over Valuev throwing hardly any punches. He would have to up his workrate five fold to compete with Vitali and that would mean staying in front of him longer.

Vitali uses 'big' far better than Valuev. I don't think he's much good to be honest but I think he will be far too effective for Haye.

So hope I'm wrong though.

Haye really disapointed me with his Valuev showing .. I`d guess he`d try to get his hands on Klitschkos title the same way :witzend:
all i can say is WOW. did you not notice that haye BROKE his right hand in the 2nd? you expect him to keep using his right?? haye beat valuev left handed. haye hardly ever uses his left hand in his whole career. haye will destroy that robot klitschko.

I don't know why Haye hardly threw anything. I definitely won't make excuses. It was pitiful. However, his hand injury was legitimate. Also, the pace of the fight determines how hard the adrenaline pumps. The last round was the climax.

Vitali vs Ali, - AliUD
Vitali vs Frazier, - Frazier KO8
Vitali vs Liston, - Vitali KO8
Vitali vs Dempsey, - Vitali KO10

Vitali vs Louis, - Louis KO10
Vitali vs Tyson, - Tyson KO2
Vitali vs Lewis - Lewis KO4
Vitali vs Holyfield - Holyfield UD
Vitali vs Bowe - Bowe late TKO
Vitali vs Marciano - Vitali KO10
Vitali vs Holmes - Holmes UD

They are the great fighters. Against the likes of Bruno/McCall/Carnera/Baer/ Shavers/Archie Moore/Patterson/Quarry etc, I'd take Vitali in a heartbeat.
Where the fk was his "decent jab" at the weekend? Do you mean that pawing action which looks like someone trying to ruffle a ten year old's hair? Liston would have battered him. Why is Archie Moore on your list? Shavers would have cracked him too. He's only fought FAT OR OLD OR BOTH 'CONTENDERS'. He's fought two guys who could lay claim to being leading heavyweights of their ERA, Byrd and Lewis. He lost both.

And why did he disappear for 3 years from a career ending collection of injuries at the time fighters were being soiled with steroid stories then appear gaunt and thin in publicity shots before mysteriously overcoming these injuries to return?

Come on, he's the number 1 in the division, I don't discount that, but he's awful. Ripe for stuffing. I'm off the fence on this one, no more balance and bluster. He's just dog-turd.

Klitschko has great ring generalship and look's very difficult to beat I think he beats Haye but can envisage Haye winning using speed and movement to get in and out with Klitschko winning on points

I think Mr. Payne is being a little bit disingenuous when he cites Chris Byrd as a loss for Klitschko. Of course it was, but he was dominating by all accounts, and had to retire late in the fight with rotator cuff knack, I seem to remember.

Anyway, Payne is generally right: Both Klitschkos are tosh. They're like that scum that rises to the top of the water when you make a stock: it's disgusting and not good, but comes to the top because the rest of the liquid is so thin.

Really, look at the contenders in the heavyweight division in the last five years. It's AWFUL. Really, truly, AWFUL.

Thinking back at the fighters Lewis beat, I'd give Tommy Morrison, Razor Ruddock, a prime McCall, the Shannon Briggs Lewis fought, prime Ray Mercer, and, you know what, even Frank Bruno -- especially against Wlad (Vitali would probably outlast him) -- good chances to cause serious problems to both Klitschkos. Certainly, all those named are several steps above Vitali's post-Lewis opposition.

I would fancy Vitali to beat ALL of those fighters. Vitali is very effective at what he does and has very good power, look at his KO percentage. He has a big heart, a sturdy chin and with his size and the volume of punches he throws, he is a handful. If Payne thinks Haye can beat him, I hope he gets on betfair and puts his money up for Haye.

im with mark on this, i think vitali beats most of those names if not all. one minute you are saying the klits are tosh, the next minute vitali beats frank bruno (who was a decent heavyweight in his day and a real world champion....eventually)

vitali klitschko is a top fighter and can be extremely effective but he is dismally boring. and, despite impressive performances v peter and gomez, he was probably amde to look a lot better than he is currently. even his renowned KO ratio is just down to long dull fights full of arm punches. he and his brother have taken but not given. no one gives an eff about the heavyweight championship. they are feeding off lumps and raw guys lacking conditioning or ambition.

maybe vitali is too much for haye. but vitali is old. haye can hit him with some surprising shots. perhaps cut him. perhaps vitali's arm/shoulder will pop out and he'll quit. perhaps the punch resistance will go. is there a better time to HAVE A CRACK at knocking vitali into fish face retirement?

if it happens, let's hope it is a more offensive minded performance from haye. i suspect it will be. just cause some damage, so that at the very least the next guy smashes vitali.

but now, aren't moves being made for vitali-valuev?

Haye by mid to late stoppage :box:
You're right, Vitali's body must be breaking down, its the worst performance Ive seen from him.
Johnson hardly landed anything worthwhile yet I also noticed Vitali was blinking a lot. This is usually a bad sign. I honestly think that any fighter that doesnt lose his "mojo" beforehand would beat him. Haye has to move quickly to make this fight happen before someone else beats him to it.
Maybe incentive for LL ?

David Haye's trainer, Adam Booth, has said that he knows how to beat Vitali Klitschko.
Now that's a MAJOR relief to hear, as I actually expected Vitali to beat Haye fairly easily, before I read Adam Booth's latest thoughts.
No doubt he is fine tuning his man to outsmart The Big Klit by circling the ring and landing one firm jab per round, then step in and knock out the hapless Dr Ironfist in the 12th, with one perfectly thrown right hand bomb.
I think Vitali just better post his belt to Adam right now, and save himself all that trouble.
