Regular radio 5 show.

Post by jamesmcdonnell »

Radio 5 will be holding a regular monthly show with John Rawling and Buncey, looks like they've got a good line up with Amir, Warren, Calzaghe, Eastman, Hoya and Hopkins for the next show. Thursday 8pm.

A little dicky bird tells me that there's a slim chance the BBC might yet screen the Eastman fight. We can but hope.

I still think people slate off Bunce too much, I like the bloke.

He's really enthusiastic about the sport, comes out with some funny stuff, sure we can sometimes disagree with some of it but boxing correspondants don't have to be stuffy old school hacks or ex-pro's.

Look at him as the Johnathan Pearce of boxing journalism and everybody seems to like Pearcy.

Exactly, think of Buncey as the 'hype-man' in a hip-hop crew. He might not get the best lyrics but he keeps it all going.

Steve Bunce's job is to bring the fight game across to people who aren't anoraks like most of us are, and make it seems exciting. Let's face it, he's often got an uphill battle on his hands.

I don't always agree with what he says, but so what.

Yeah I must admit I hated Pearce when he used to commentate on Capital Gold but I think on Radio 5 he's had to 'chill out' a lot and he is actually quite a knowledgable pundit.
