Haye points. Its over 6 rounds, I reckon Haye will be looking to pace the fight better than the Cat fight and Delaney is about the same size as Worcestershire at the moment

It will be interesting to see if Haye can resist his natural inclination to bomb delaney out.

When this fight was announced i thought the exact same thing that Haye would just go wild and go for the KO straight away, lets just hope he dont make the same mistakes again.

Haye on points. He'll be coming in heavy himself I guess.

Doesn't say much for Haye's stamina if it's a 6 rounder.

Perhaps Delaney didn't want to fight more than a 6 rounder.

I wonder if the Beeb will use the same pre-fight presentation that they showed when the fight was first due to take place last year. Wouldn't surprise me if they did, cheapskate bastards.

Have all you boys forgotten that Gary Delaney was knocked out by Julius Francis in 1997? Jules is no Earnie Shavers, and anyone who gets bounced off the floor 5 times by him is going to get bombed out by David Haye.

Doesnt go past 2 rds, says Overhands always reliable, never fallible, and much sought after crystal ball.

And who says Haye is Ernie Shavers? He's a big hitting cruiserweight, but most of his stoppages have come against patsies. He never managed to drop Thompson despite raining plenty of shots on him, and lest we forget, Thompson was knocked sparked out by Ezra sellers, who is a big hitter, but not a heavyweight.

Macaranelli I believe hits every bit as hard as Haye, and Delaney got up seven times.

Haye is a big puncher, but he hasn't proven that his power will carry to the top level yet.

Jmes mate, you miss my point.

What i meant is that Delaney was getting bounced off the floor SEVEN yrs ago by a soft punching heavy who couldnt bang even if he was a cruiserweight.

Delaney doesnt have the chin to stay in with Haye.

LOL, so delaney has a bad chin now does he????

if you watch Francis V Delaney, Garry isnt really hurt by any of julius shots...... he was knackered because

a) he was fighting as his heaviest ever weight
b) was giving away a stone or so to julius....

Delaney has been in with cruiserweight punchers Enzo and Scott. Bruce didnt drop him and Enzo dropped him with body shots... he fought oboh who could dig, Rothmann who could dig and was never dropped. Despite Rothmann landing a picture perfect right hand on his chin

Six rounds is an odd distance for the fight.

I would presume Delaney requested that rather then Haye.

It was Delaney who requested the fight to be over a shorter distance

Well the BBC are showing it Friday night at 11.35pm so it will clash with the last 25 minutes of the Enzo Maccarinelli fight on SKY.

Oh decisions, decisions.

If you have got BBC Wales (Sky digital does I believe) you can save the clash as it is on an 12.25 there.

Thompson was more off balance than hurt most of the time, yes he took some big shots, but it was Haye who got knocked out, not Thompson.

    "I'm Gary Delaney, I'm old school."

To be honest, knowing the Beeb, it wouldn't surprise me either. Hell, if it was a choice between making a new one or getting out of work early on a Friday to go to the pub, I know which one I'd do.
