no they dont , your right , but thats usually because their less active , well that would be the biggest factor in my opinion anyway , when you hit 25 , in a settled relationship , maybe a couple of kids etc , weight will come on , and yes that happens naturally , but it doesnt mean that because it happens naturally its a good thing , not at all , people tell me i look better at the weight im at now , but no doubt about it in my mind that as a ex super feather id get fucked over seriously at cruiser , ive fought at white collar as a cruiser but im the promotor so im not stupid , id only go in with someone thats not gonna hammer me ,im not saying i take gimme's just not people who are 6ft 3 and 14 stone , not cos of anything other than im too slow with the weight added on , kahn too would be slowed down and would be getting hit with bigger harder punches , the weight difference makes a huge difference , i assure you , i could probably drop kahn with 1 right hand , ( if i could land it on his chin which maybe would be quite difficult admittedly ) but i dont train or anything , im sure that a quick middleweight that carried power would be too much for kahn at his own weight let alone if he went in at middle , imagine for example the likes of say someone like kirkland lands a bomb on kahns chin , kirkland would spark him clean out even if they weighed the exact same weight , which if kirkland continues his career after jail , middleweight is where i would expect him to be campaigning , that is the sort of guy that he could be facing , pavlik wouldnt be at middleweight by that point imo. any way im rambling on here . end of the day , if kahn went upto middle it would be a recipe for disaster that could see khan hurt badly , i like to support the brits in world title fights etc and honestly hope im proved wrong but i seriously cant see it . khan should never go above welter i think , in the interest of his own health . as i said i hope im proved wrong but dont think thats likely. id love someone to dig this out in 5 years and say i told you so , but we will see.[/quote]

At the moment, yes he can't fight at middleweight, he'd get sparked in a round by even a top 20 middleweight. However, in a few years Khan's frame will be bigger. He's not going to put on weight in a way that he's just eaten too much and not done any exercise. Look at Pac Man, De La Hoya, Mayweather, Marquez, Haye etc etc the list goes on. They are all people who got too big for their division, and in the interests of staying competitive had to move up as draining the weight etc was affecting their performance and punch resistance.

I think this is the point Roach is trying to make with Khan. Not that he can compete with middleweights in his current physique, but one day he may grow into a middleweight.

And I hate all this 'I can spark so-and-so world champion out' from people sitting behind a keyboard. These pro boxers are world champions because they are a lot harder than us normal blokes who can fight on the street or who have done white collar boxing. You wouldn't get near Khan let alone spark him out.

He may well be able to move up, sadly his current chin would join him.
