Venue and training options

Post by allworld80 »

There are 621 venues available for fights, in around 60 countries. One option is to handpick 50 or so venues, and list them. Or you could specify which country the fight is to be held, and have a venue chosen. This could be part of the negotiation process, defending champions etc.

In regards to training, there are options available for trainers to focus on during training.

Power
Endurance
Defense
Hand Speed
Tactical skills

This also means that by doing so, you could neglect other aspects of the training. Not always, but it's possible.

So it boils down to...do you want to make these things part of the process? I would even go as far to say you could PM me with any training aspects, to avoid your opponent seeing it. And the venues would just be part of the matchmaking between managers, and against computer fighters, just added to the matchup.

List of demands for all GBP fighters.

1. Perrier water in dressing room
2. granberry available at all times to administer orange juice to fighter when required
3. Entourage to include 5 Bentley automobiles for transportation to and from fight location
4. Accommodations for 20 at Ritz Carlton or other 5 star Hotels required for all fights
5. 60% of all concession profits
6. 20% of all PPV proceeds

List to continue and subject to change upon further reflection.

I was on board with all that until you brought Granberry into the equation. Now, back on topic.

Commish, do venue placements have an effect. I.e. Will fighting at home give you a slight advantage? The Champ will obviously hold the bargaining rights, and it's quite realistic if so.

that sounds more realistic, however, if its going to slow down the sim process, it may just be best to just have it as it is, considering how slow everyones taking already

I say yes to the venues, no to the trainer options. It'll make things a lot slower, and mean a lot more work for our beloved commish.

In terms of venues, I vote we ban all pome venues.

Other than that I don't mind either way...

Everton Park Sports Centre

Plenty of other England venues. So, it looks like we'll just go with the venues and scrap the specialized training.

I think with such a large crew, anything like this will slow the process too much. I vote no. However, if I have to have either, it would be Venues.

I would say that everything in Sim has an effect. So yes, fighting in one's backyard certainly has the ability to influence an outcome. Beltholders could use that for sure.

Venues are easy, just adds more fire to the bargaining/negotiating process.

Nah, a few extra keystrokes while making the match is all it is.

I'll make a list of 100 or so venues then, and post them before the season starts. If you have any requests, let me know.
