Great news that Jamie Kavanagh turns pro in LA with Freddie.

A lot of people will remember him from his silver medal at the 2008 World Youths.

Really looking forward to seeing Jamie as a pro, had no idea he was fluent in Spanish which can come in handy in boxing as a markability factor. Two of Irelands most promising prospects training in the Wildcard!

Just been speaking to young Jamie there and he confirmed that he is moving to LA in January and all the promotions details will be tied up then.

Seems very knowledgable about the sport in general and eager to get his pro career underway.

I have high highs for Jamie and I am sure with the guidance that he will get over there that he will make his way to the top.

I seen a DVD of Dean fighting a fellow called Chris McCullen in a ten-rounder in Australia. Was really impressed, it was only Deans 5th pro fight but he looked like he had been in the pro ring a few years. Technically rock solid-good footwork, good hand speed, good defence, good reflexes. He won nearly every round of that fight. A friend of mine has the dvd so if I can get it off him I will upload to Youtube, will be after Xmas though because hes in the US. No lack of quality sparring partners in the Wildcard either at Deans weight!
