PIET BRAND or BRANDT vs DAVIES.

The drawn contest between Piet Brand and Shoeing Smith Fred Davies took place on
Monday 16 Nov.1925.

Their later contest was on Monday 4(not6) January 1926 and both were held at the
Drill Hall Dumfries Place, Cardiff.

Some european records give his name as BRANDT and this maybe ? why there is a
brief record for a ? BRANDI.

Thanks for the corrections. The correct name is Piet Brand not Brandt - foreign newspapers have a habit of lambasting Dutch names hence the 'Brandt' version. The 'Brandl' listed without first name was a German middleweight; as the source of Brandl's fights are Dutch newspapers - who were very much familiar with Piet Brand - he was with 100% certainty not the Dutch fighter. Do you have a round number to go with the November 1925 draw between Brand and Davies?
