Some of the idiots on have poested on here are embarrassing, Dodson was average a couple of years ago but now he just isn't that good, smith has the amateur pedigree and at times class skills but goes to sleep and tends to fight at his opponents level. Smith go out and make a staement of intent, dont mess about like in the Quigly fight. If Smith is on form he stops him in 5.

quigley wasnt fit & dropped dodson who had prepared for magee :!: the quigley who fought smith would flatten dodson inside five.
im backing smith to do dodson early 2-4 rds if he aint loading up & putting shots together. it's do or die for dodson so i wont be missing this.

Bollocks!!!!!!!!!

Dodson has been domestic level for years!! So to say he was average years ago & is no good now is absurd!!!

Dodson has the class and ability to dispose of Smith, he will be the bigger man in the ring also.

.......... Again can someone remind me what Smith has done in his professional career?? (Apart from beat Quiqley which i thought he lost!!)

Dodson was an average fighter who has gone down hill in the last couple of years and especially after what looked like IMO going down too easy against Froch.

Yes i will respect him if he wins as, as it will be the first genuine SM he has fought in his 29 fight career, so if he wins fair play. If he beats Dodson he will have beaten a competent operator at SM, so we'll see ay.

so tony dodson has gone down hill and was a average fighter so if tony dodson wins would it be fair to say Paul smith never got up the hill

I don't think anybody really thinks this will be easy for Smith, Dodson will be well up for it and will cause Smith some problems, lesser fighters have done in the past but I do see Smith winning it with a late KO. With Quigley waiting in the wings, Dilks hopefully looking to get involved and a potential shot at the European title (if Magee beats Larson) for the victor of this series, it's exciting times in Liverpool and for british boxing.

Yes, you just have to watch the Froch fight to see Dodson is average and wanted out very early.

And what exactly has 'Dodo' done in his career? Besides winning the British over 6 years ago, what has he done since? Apart from losing 5 times (4 inside the distance), who has he beat?...

ive never read so many interviews with a man who must be so deluded. 'smith got bullied by quigley, i bullied quigley'. i remember watchin quigley bully some1, drop them 4 times, didnt get dropped himself by this big machine. he was winnin but a british title is 12 rounds, not 11. an as 4, people only turned up to watch quigley, because ov wat dodson done to him, thats sound awfully funny wen i remember 2/3s ov the crowd bein 4 paul.

Dodson is quite fortunate to get an immediate challenge again for the title.

I mean this with no disrespect, but his last notable win against an opponent at British level was his victory was against Allan Foster- in 2003.

Considering this, Smith should win this fight comfortably, I feel.

A tough fight will ensue in the first 4-5 rounds, with smigga pulling away in the 6th, and stopping dodo in the 7-8th rounds.

Smigga has too much class, power and quality.

let him have it smigga
