Burley article

Post by Boxscribe »

You are right, this is a good article.

The only problem I had with it was when it first appeared on another site was that it used the photo lifted directly from the cover of my book - 'Charley Burley and the Black Murderers' Row' yet failed to mention that another book on Burley even existed - instead quoting 'another source'. I know because someone left some of the colour background on when they lifted it.

A bit cheeky I thought, but hey!

As far as the Moore bout goes, the match was made in advance and Burley knew Archie was his opponent that night. The story Eddie Futch used to tell about Burley getting a call at work is untrue. Though other sources have also told me that Burley carried Moore - and others.

And the proof is in your book courtesy of the fight ad advertising it.

Anybody who hasn`t read Harry Otty`s book 'Charley Burley and the Black Murderers' Row' `should get one ASAP.

Thanks for the boost Rob and T. I am happy the book has been received well.

I would love to do another, but it took me so long to research and write the Burley book I don't know if I could face it :-?

There are a very limited number of the book left if anyone is interested
