Eastman only in line for the WBC

Oh yes definitely. The current scene will be my first point of call for the excuses, cheating Eastman, cheating referee, cheating judges, illegal use of the head, only holds one belt, hopkins is still better, water bottle and loaded-with-metal gloves comments!

If Hopkins lose wont he get stripped of his other titles since he will weigh in within the midleweight limit?

Exactly, Hopkins has already defended against his mandatories, so what reason could they possibly give for stripping him of his title?

Not exactly, DLH wasn't a mandatory for Sturm so I suppose the WBO #1 contendor has been waiting around for a while.

Also, its been over a year since Hopkins fulfilled his WBA obligations (there is a new WBA 'normal' champion, who I'm not going to even mention in this post - because he doesn't warrant mentioning).

So I suppose the WBO and WBA might start pressing.

Yes, but isn't he a WBA 'super' champ, and that gives him 18 months between defences is i remember rightly.

I doubt Bernard gives much of a toss about the WBO title.

Im sure there is a § in their laws that says that a fighter will get stripped if he looses a non title fight and he is within the limit of the division he is in. Should Eastman win he will be WBC champ, Masoe will be upgrated to WBA champ, Sturm and Schenk will probably fight for the vacant WBO belt and Taylor will fight Soliman for the IBF title.

I don't know, Joppy waited over two years before he had his shot (and that was after he won the title).

So I suppose it can be manipulated.

I wouldn't mind him facing the WBO mandatory after Eastman.

From the WBA rules:

1: If the WBA is a unified champ (2 belts) he has to face the mandatory every 18 months

2: If the WBA champ is undisputed champ (3 belts) he has to face the mandatory every 21 months

3: If the WBA champ is a super champion (4 belts) he has to face the mandatory every 24 months.

Thats confused me even more now for two reasons.

1) Joppy waited more than two years (and we complain about Eastman waiting).

2) The WBA have called holders of the two belts Super Champions in the past, the quote makes it sound like Hopkins is the only fighter in history that can be labelled a Super Champion and that was only after he beat Oscar.
