In the "Boxing Register" it has a fight listed (p.125 in the 3rd Edition) where Peter Jackson knocked out Jem Smith in 2 rounds in London in 1892. It says that is when Jackson won the British Empire Championship.
However, there is no mention of this fight on the Boxrec database. The database indicates that Jackson won this title from Frank Slavin. The Boxing Register lists the Slavin fight as a title defense.
Is this an oversight on the database and Jackson did KO Smith in 1892?
Or did this fight never happen and it is a mistake by the Boxing Register?
Peter Jackson-Jem Smith 1892?
Re: Peter Jackson-Jem Smith 1892?
I think this is probably a mistake.
