Smigga as i understand it never had the return with banks due to an injury.
But i think you are right to point out that he (banks) was a quality fighter, and i think Paul was a clear winner in the fight, and almost took him out in the 4th, although as paul pointed out, he wasn't at his best that night.
Paul now has a great chance to cement his position as the uk's #1 smw, by beating dodson (which i think he will), and win the lonsadale outright.
I do hope though that he gets his chance to fight stieglitz, as this is the kind of fight that will define him, and put beyond any doubt the talent he has by performing against a top quality operator.
I think it is harsh to say he has been poor of late, maybe not as good as he can perform, but the way he has re-built and bounced back from that ridiculous decision against bendall shows his character and quality.
The problem with the boxing world is if there ain't no KO it's a problem. Well that is bullshit. If it comes, it comes. I think sometimes because of the power paul knows he carries, he has felt some kids should have been out of there before the final bell.
He knows a win is a win, and i think if he continues to adopt this attitude, he will prosper in a competitive division.
I must just sign off by pointing out his class attitude. Some of the comments he has posted on this thread have been top drawer, and show the man for what he is. Class. Liverpool knows it, and soon the uk and the world will!
can't wait for march Paul, will be in the echo for it!
