i like your confrontational style irene but i reckon after six or seven rounds you'd be gassed and my hefty argumentative hooks would start to take their toll. i dont see you or george around for the full fifteen.

IMHO, theres no difference in the outcome. Foreman kayoed Frazier in two rounds in 1972, and kayoed him in five a few years later. Frazier's style was all wrong for George, wouldn't matter if it was the Frazier who beat Ali at MSG, still wouldnt have made a difference. George was a different kind of animal altogether.

in all probability you are right. i saw the first fight as it happened and the destruction of a fighter i had previously thought indestructable has stayed with me. however, i do feel joe pre-FOTC would not have been so thoroughly busted up and its possible he could have caught george for the full count. its not wise to be convinced by anything in this sport.

thats my last word on this

"its not wise to be convinced by anything in this sport"

Astute statement.

GI, you might want to think about those words a bit. Everything is not all black and white.

The possibility of the real prime Frazier overcoming the style disadvantage and ultimately overcoming '73 Foreman is not nearly as farfetched as you think. I'm not going into as to how and why.....I've posted that many times.

Others seem to have a similar viewpoint, judging by the poll results.

The result would have been the same as it was in 1973.

Some fighters just 'own' other fighters: Fighting Harada owned Eder Jofre, Vernon Forrest owned Shane Mosley & George Foreman not only owned Joe Frazier, he had Joe on his mantelpiece IMO.
