Yeah,"One-ginger haired fellow'may have said that, probably a soccer hoodlum too.
So that tarnished the entire pro-Cooper crowd there at Wembly?
Sounds like an article someone over at MSBC would write.
Just some hack writer trying to make a name for himself trying to inflame hatred and probably
knew didly squat about boxing.

It was written May 30, 1966 . MSNBC didn't exist yet.

I posted it because I can't believe someone was ignorant and masochistic enough to use the n-word in the vicinity of Jim Brown.

I would have paid $100.00 to see the great Jim Brown beat three of the young bobbies silly:

Maybe not ignorant or masochistic but sure the hell as drunk for sure.
Probably didnt even know who Jim Brown was.
Thats why they call soccer over there football.

Yeah but hack writers existed in 1966.
I dont think Jim Brown had to do anything but wonder what was wrong with the drunken sot there in the crowd.
Dont u know there is an audience for haters?
Man,I heard some worse manners and cursing at me a few days ago at the family re-union.
I didnt go write an article about it neither.

I remember that Cooper's gloves once hung up in a pub with a plaque that read:

"These gloves did not rip."

I think sometimes its over done, and Cooper may still have wild ideas of what might have been had Ali not gotten the extra seconds or minutes in between rounds---but the reality is, even if he could have beaten Ali...would have have wanted any part of Liston?

I DONT THINK SO...

The irony is that Ali couldn't defend himself against a left hook.
Yep that was his obvious Achilles heel, but he shore could get up after bein' hit by one, couldn't he?

Good chin, good recovery ability.....and to be fair he eluded a good percentage of them.
