Exactly. Sky Sports shows are generally a procession of 'fights' where we have one of the fighters with the odds enormously in his favour, be it age, experience, weight, whatever, many are simply mismatches and the rest are little better.

And unless you are the home fighters family or best mate its pretty shit to watch and comes accross as public bullying. Again, not good for Mr Joe Public.

i fell asleep pissed on the couch, woke up disoiriented with my most hated c*** in all the world on tv instead of boxing.

spat at the jug eared c*** and went to bed in a mood.

i hope timmy develops some kind of disease preferably a painful one.
i hate that c***.

I actually went to school with the c***, but that doesn't make me root for him anymore.......

Why have they showed so many nothing Eastman fights, then not the Hopkins one?

I think the previous Eastman fighters were part of the problem. They were hoping that Eastman would turn into a genuine star, but sadly the time at which they got a hold of him was the time when he was playing the long waiting game for his title shot. Arguably, he could have taken on more inspiring opponents, though it was not all his or his promoters fault, the fight with Sendra fell through, what was it, three times. Thus the BBC screened a series of fights which failed to deliver the big bang for the buck they had been hoping for.

Now they have made their minds up to not bother with professional boxing, and so it's going to be hard to convince them otherwise. It's a shame, because their timing was all off. They backed Audley but handled it all wrong, and aside from Haye's fights which are pretty easy on the eye for non-hardcore sports fans, there's been nothing truly compelling.

I think the BBC should have got behind some exciting domestic fighters who needed the exposure, and who would at least have been involved in some meaningful fights, rather than the marking time bouts of Audley and Eastman.

Can you imagine if something like Chas Symonds v Brett James had been live on the BBC? Someone like David Walker in competitive domestic level fights would have been great too.

Carl froch's fights have been Ok to watch, but would probably have been a lot more exciting had they been following him this year rather than last.

Problem is, the BBC just didn't seem to have any strategy, not a long term one anyway, you need to make good decisions about what to show over a long enough period to bring the fans back in.

Not like they advertise their boxing either. I watch lots of boxing on Eurosport and Sky but you would only know the BBC are showing any boxing if I saw it in here or managed to come across it by luck while changing the channel.

Exactly why I've missed about 80% of their shows in the past year.

Agreed, we need more of these kind of fights to boost the boxing draw in this country.

It looks like Jamie Arthur is off to see a specialist about his cut prone skin.

Arthur's trainer Tony Borg says that the camp will seek the advice of the Harley Street plastic surgeon who worked on Hatton.

Lets hope they can get it sorted out.

I can't understand why the beeb does not use the Digital channels for sport BBC3 has FU on at any time. They do show some sport on their interactive service (press the red button etc) I've had a freeview box since Xmas and they showed the darts on interactive, Welsh Open Snooker and Track Cycling!! As a tennis fan I was hoping they would show the Aussie open but they didn't. But why can't Eastman/Hopkins be on interactive if they can't fit it into their normel schedules. More people probably have a freeview box then have SKY. i wish the Beeb would take a risk every so often.
