Billy Graham: Notes from Exile

Steven Smith coming up on the site in the next few days, Joe Murray and Gallagher also, Wayne Elcock on withdrawal and a massive quoteathon disguised as a 2009 awards article. Hope they help while away some quality skiving time in work this week :TU:
Gained alot of respect for Graham this year and last.

He handled the Hatton situation with class, not involving himself in a slagging match, which he could have done given the way things were handled.

He's also a nice fella.

I was interested. tell you what i didn't see in Elcock's interview? any sign that he thinks he could BEAT Barker. he says he would be, paraphrasing, a good further test for Barker,a seal on Barker's quality and a stepping-stone on his way to further honours... and this is Elcock's view on the fight...?

oh, indeed mate, but what i would expect to have seen would have been more along the lines of what he was saying pre-macklin, 'hasn't fought anyone of my ability and experience/ in for a nasty shock' kindof thing... it just seemed to me that Elcock was talking like a stepping stone, who knows he is a stepping stone, if you know what i mean...

Big Earnie talks boxing, disses Lewis, praises Tyson and then moves onto God, finances and the benefits of a black fruit diet. Stirring stuff.
Not sure I approve of the word 'cuddly' in any boxing article, Terry, but it's always great to hear from Big Ern.

I really like Billy Graham, a straight speaking loyal man who has been treated terribly by Ricky Hatton. To think Graham would of died for Hatton and then to be treated like that and to be dumped for the absolute wank£rs that Hatton surrounds himself with now. In years to come Hatton will regret ruining his relationship with Graham for money.

Good reads there Terry. Good to hear from Billy. It will be interesting to see (or hear...) if Fury can keep his promise about keeping his mouth shut! I've heard that he's a decent guy and pretty quietly spoken and that the mouthiness comes more from those around him.

A quietly spoken, polite individual behind the mouthy persona? Sounds like you're kindred spirits :OhYes:
