Hot prospect for 2010 Kell Brook will face tough Eastern European opposition on February 13 in an eliminator for the WBO World Welterweight title currently held by pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao. The 23-year-old British champion, and 2009's British Boxing Writers' Young Boxer of the Year, takes on Poland's Krzysztof Bienias at Wembley Arena on allegedly's huge Night of the Champions extravaganza. Bienias is the current WBO Intercontinental champion, a belt that will be on the line in North London. And the 29-year-old, who has a 39-3 (16) record and has previously challenged for the European light-welterweight title, is currently ranked number four by the WBO..

Brook, who is undefeated in 20 fights and who has just raced to a Lonsdale belt outright inside 12 months, is rated seven by the organisation.

"Bienias has a great record and he's going to be a very dangerous opponent," said the Sheffield sensation.

"He's the kind of guy that I need to beat if I'm going to get to world level.

"He's above me in the ratings and if I beat him then I'm going to be progressing nicely and I'll be one step closer to that world title opportunity.

"Bienias hasn't been beaten for five years and he'll be coming to London to win.

"But it's a fantastic opportunity for me to make a big statement and I'll be looking to keep up my run of KO victories.

"I've been saying for the last year that I want to be tested and I'm ready for world level and this fight is the perfect chance to do just that.

"Winning the Lonsdale belt outright is a dream come true but it's just the start. 2010 is going to be my year and I'll be the name on everyones lips "

"I want to be a world champion by the end of the year."

Main event features the explosive heavyweight showdown between British heavyweight champion Danny Williams and Commonwealth champion Sam Sexton; Kevin Mitchell's WBO Intercontinental Lightweight title defence; Derek Chisora versus Matt Skelton for the Vacant English Heavyweight Championship; The Olympians James DeGale, Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders; plus Vinny Mitchell and Liam, Michael and Ryan Walsh.

Tickets priced at £40, £50, £75, £100 and £150, are available from:

tougher fight for brook this , bit odd though that warren stepping him towards pacmans title when he is no way gonna trhow his youngter to the lions like that , i can only assume it would also double up as a euro title eliminator , unless warren knows that pacman is gonna vacate soon or something . i do personally rate brook very highly but dont think hes any where near ready to be making world title shots for at least another few bouts , needs to get the european and put in a few defences then maybe take on a couple of fringe world level fighters , probably a good half dozen fights until world titles should even be mentioned to him , no point getting him excited and letting him take his eye off the ball .

@damienhucker1 the reason wazza is taking him down the wbo route is because pacman won't hold on to the title for long it doesn't really mean anything to him. then kell will fight for the vacant title

Can't see anything but an inside the schedule win for Brook. Witter destroyed this fella a few years back. Having said that, Witter was on scorching form at the time and Bienas represents Brook's stiffest test to date, having recently beaten the decent Sven Paris twice. Brook's done well if he can blow Bienas away in two like Witter did.

Although Brook will start a heavy favourite , its still a decent test for him.
Bienias is a much improved boxer since the Witter defeat, he's gone on a good run and has twice defeated Sven Paris , and that was in Sven's hometown . So Bienias knows he can travel and win big. Plus he's done it twice.
Bienias doesn't do anything spectacular, but knows the basics well.

Brooks has had 3 early nights and alot of deserved praise, but he needs to train for each fight as if its going the distance.
He wouldn't be the first prospect to start believing his own hype and fail to train properly.

It's hard to get excited about this. An unknown European who was stopped early by Junior Witter. Ok, it might be a "decent test" , "stepping stone fight" etc, but as a fan it's hard to show more than a "passing glance interest."

Same goes for the whole show - the Heavyweight match ups are, indeed, two solid bouts- and they will be entertaining, but with the usual gang of prospects inevitably winning on the undercard, I can't see how this is really a "Night of the Champions extravagansa".

Whatever, anyway- if it makes a profit and gives the boxers work, then good stuff.

Look at beinas record... he is on a serious winning streak. Witter was very very good when he beat Bienas imo. is Brook that good? I don't know. he got hit a lot against Lomax. If beinas takes the fight beyond the sixth round how will Brook react? This is a seasoned european level campaigner.
