Wayne McCullough vs Bernard Dunne

Post by Cossack »

McCullough is pushing for this fight a lot, been in some of the national newspapers calling Dunne out recently.

I would love to see that fight personally. I think McCullough might have one last big performance in him and could beat Dunne. Dunne would be a favourite though but we know about his chin. Even though McCullough can't punch, he might be able to get Dunne going. Can Dunne keep a pressure fighter like McCullough off for 12 hard rounds?

If it happened, I'd put a small wager on Wayne. I doubt Dunne will fight him though.

whatever Lirva!!

McCullough hasnt won a fight in 5 years.

Like I've said elsewhere - I love Wayne, travelled to see many of his fights home and abroad but NO!

If he wants a fight he knows where to contact Pa Hyland, he has three boys that would all jump in with him next year.

Until then he needs to zip it.

The only person who wants this is Wayne and why wouldn't he? He has it all to gain and nothing to lose. Brian Peters is no mug though, he knows McCullough is long finished and told him to go and win some fights and get ranked (when Dunne held the Euro) knowing he wouldn't/couldn't.

Nobody with a sane mind would want this fight to happen. The long list of reasons for it not to happen (apart from common sense) begin with bare facts:

He's a 39-year-old who has spent a career making super-bantamweight (or thereabouts).

He's been inactive for over a year.

His last fight he quit against a guy he would have gobbled up in his prime. The fight was on an undercard in the Cayman Islands.

He's lost four out his last five, the last two by stoppage (knockout, retirement, whatever!).

He was last seen on thes shores taking swings at veteran journalist Jack Magowen (God rest his soul),with the delightful Cheryl in tow, after a weigh-in farce at the King's Hall.

this was the farce at the Kiko Martinez weigh in yes? Jack Magowen said something to McCullough for coming in a few lbs under the limit or something and Wayne didn't react to kindly where as Kiko was a few lbs over the limit and didn't seem too pushed about 'sweating' off the excess weight.

McCullough v A.N. Other Hyland with Sinclair, Frampton and Conlan on the under card = Beal Feirste sell out!
