all the fighters have a period of inactivity, so although he has retired, he is still there for a bit.

Why are you surprised? Too High? Too Low?
diggler wrote:wouldn't have munroe ahead of mitchell cleverly and brook also froch should be ahead of hatton
Munroe has been fighting at a significantly higher level than Mitchell, Cleverly and Brook for about two years, so I think he belongs above those fighters for now. Neither Mitchell, Cleverly or Brook have reached European level yet.

I didn't feel that Froch's last win, over Dirrell, was enough to put him above Hatton at that time. If Froch can beat Kessler in April then he will go above Hatton.

Nicky Cook will probably fall below those fighters after their next fights.

Cook was the WBO champion before his last fight, so I have given him the benefit of the doubt, so far. However, he has been inactive for almost ten months and lost his last fight, so he will probably fall fairly quickly down the list now, unless he makes a comeback against decent opposition.

Froch is on better form, so maybe he should be higher than Hatton.

After Froch's next win, or Hatton's next loss, then I can make a change to that situation.

Who has done more than Munroe in recent years? Who should go above him?

Woods has only been inactive four and a bit months, so I therefore consider him an active fighter.

Is Enzo worthy of inclusion?

Sam Sexton deserves a mention in there as well.

I think Barker and Brook are currently less proven than everyone ranked above them.

Both fighters have looked like they can be World/European title contenders, but neither have fought opposition above domestic/area level.

I think Jason Booth should be higher.

Former British & commonwealth flyweight champion.
IBO super flyweight champion
current British & commonwealth bantam champion

Yet languishes behind wbogus challengers and prospects.

Mitchell had not been very active before his win over Prescott, which meant he had fallen to 21st place in the rankings.

I did not feel a win over Prescott warranted a 10 place climb in the rankings to overtake Cook.

If Mitchell wins his next fight then he will probably overtake Cook.

If Froch can maintain his winning run at World level, by beating Kessler, then he will go above Hatton.

Froch has struggled, and almost lost twice, against his World class opponents. So, I don't think there is anything wrong with Hatton still being above him in the P4P rankings.

Who should be above Munroe? Macklin, Rhodes and McCloskey are fellow European champions, but none of them have held the belt for long and I think Munroe has the better wins recently.

Former World Champions Witter and Woods are coming to the end of their careers, Dunne has just been destroyed, and unbeaten prospects Murray, Cleverly, Mitchell, Brook and Barker have not been fighting opponents as good as Munroe's opposition.

Cook will start to fall down the rankings as the fighters in the 12-20 area of the rankings pick up wins. However, I don't think his current ranking is unjust, as he was the WBO champion less than 12 months ago.
sligobhoy67 wrote:McCloskey too low.
McCloskey would be higher if his recent opposition had been better. Wins over Harrison and Rasilla in the last 12 months is not really deserving of a much higher ranking.

I think as a EBU champion, McCloskey should be higher. Passed every test so far, including some world ranked fighters.

Are you serious :o Mitchell has not reached European level yet?? Are we talking about the same man who has just clearly out boxed Prescott who holds a KO 1 win over Khan, the WBA 'World' Champion in a World title eliminator. And so what that Cook is a former WBO Champion? The calibure of opponent he beat closely on points in Arthur is not above Prescott. How you can have Cook above Mitchell at this point of their careers is laughable.
