I'm not a law-man, but i reckon thats a pretty strong case they've put together.
I think a few bank balances are about to get hit hard, and if i'm honest, i'll be happy if thats the result of all this. Pacquiao's reputation has been irreversably dmamaged and i'm disgusted by it.

Reputation that would be restored with a simple drugs test surely?ALI wrote: I think a few bank balances are about to get hit hard, and if i'm honest, i'll be happy if thats the result of all this. Pacquiao's reputation has been irreversably dmamaged and i'm disgusted by it.
Reading the PDF the only individuals they can possibly claim against is Mayweather Snr (who is rumoured to be completely broke so no cash there) and possibly De la Hoya. The defense lawyers (and possibly judge) will indeed question why he did not take a drugs test to clear his name.
I can see the court throwing out this case unless he takes a drugs test.
Pretty disgusted by Pacs refusal to take a blood test to clear his name to be honest. Neither side are better than the other IMO

What a waste of money!!!
Unless he takes the test he will be branded a 'user'.

He is taking the tests you moron's. He has agreed to Nevada's 3 blood tests + unlimited urine tests. He has also agreed to coincide with any testing the NSAC care to implement.
Probably you still dont get it, right

You can live in your 'nice simplistic world where nobody cheats because that would be unfair on the competition
I want to see the fight go ahead, not a stupid lawsuit that could have been completely avoided if nothing was said or if Pac would have agreed to a simple test. As I said both sides are as bad as each other.
Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
You clearly have a problem with the current testing proceedures used in boxing, but why take out your frustration on Pacquiao, thats foolishness of the highest order!Smit wrote:You can live in your 'nice simplistic world where nobody cheats because that would be unfair on the competition'.
Its not about wether i think Pacquiao's clean or not, i can't be 100% sure either way, the same goes for any active fighter out there today as it has been proven in all sports that drug tests can be cheated. What i object to is the smear campaign that has gone on over the last few months by the Mayweather's & Golden Boy. They have set out to blacken Pacquiao's name in the worst way possible. I dont like it because i, like they, know that the only fact available to us all is that Pacquiao has subjected himself to every single drug test ever required of him over his entire career, be it a blood test or urine test, and he has always come up clean. It just cannot be that a few select people with alterior motives set about destroying his entire reputation simply because they think he might be on something. Have they ever shown any objection about the NSAC's testing policies before???
Pacquiao is being trialed in the court of public opinion, exactly what team Mayweather and Golden Boy set out to achieve. Be a part of that if you wish. Its my opinion that people need to back of Pacquiao and take up any concerns they have with the current testing proceedure's implememnted by the like's of the NSAC etc with them directly, and not to take it up with Pacquiao.

Anyone says a word Manny does not like and he sues?
If Pac had asked PBF to take a blood test and pbf refused I would also say it looks fishy, I like Manny and routed for him v MAB - Hatton and DLH, but he is making himself look guilty, he moight not be but t loks that way.
As for ALI, wake up - drugs is BIG BUSINESS in sport AND MANNY HAS 2 PEOIPLE ON HS TEAM BANNED FOR PUMPING PEOPLE FULL OF STEROIDS/illegtal drugs!
Looks fishy. Google it or see my earlier thread.
Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
Manny complies to all drug tests by any athletic commission, he does not see why he should suddenly be insisted on drug testing by the world doping council because Mayweather says so. This testing involves ppl randomingly turning up at any time and insisting on a sample, something current athletes are not happy about.
The WDC have never been used in boxing, so why now? Also reading the article below Manny is pissed off at the implication that he is a cheat.

Manny Pacquiao issues Floyd Mayweather Jr with lawsuit
Mayweather Jr and Pacquaio would have earned millions from the fight
Manny Pacquiao has launched legal proceedings against Floyd Mayweather for accusing him of taking performance-enhancing drugs.
The Filipino pulled out of a lucrative fight to face Mayweather on 13 March after the American demanded Olympic-style drugs tests ahead of the bout.
The lawsuit filed in a Las Vegas court names Mayweather's father, uncle and Golden Boy Promotions.
Oscar de la Hoya, founder of Golden Boy, is also mentioned.
The lawsuit claims the Mayweathers, six-weight world champion De la Hoya, and Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer knew that WBO welterweight champion Pacquaio has never taken performance-enhancing drugs and made their statements out of "ill-will, spite, malice, revenge, and envy".
Pacquaio's lawyer Daniel Petrocelli said: "Manny's achievements come from God-given talent and an indefatigable work ethic - not steroids.
"He cannot and will not allow others to deliberately misrepresent his years of hard work and tarnish his reputation."
My way to the top is a result of hard work, hard work, hard work and a lot of blood spilled from my past battles
Manny Pacquaio
Pacquaio withdrew from what was expected to be the richest fight in boxing history last week following a disagreement about blood tests 30 days prior to the fight.
The Filipino said he would only give blood before the initial media conference and immediately after the fight.
Although Pacquaio said he would agree to testing by the same agencies that conduct tests for pro American Football and baseball players, he would not sign up to random tests by the US Anti-Doping Agency.
Promoter Bob Arum accused Mayweather's camp of raising the issue not because they were worried about Pacquiao taking performance-enhancing substances, but because Mayweather Jr never wanted to fight in the first place.
Pacquaio signalled his intentions to take matters into the court room on Christmas Day.
BEN DIRS' BLOG
This was boxing's big chance to emerge from the slump. If the dunces can't sort this mess out, many will think the sport is not worth forgiving.
"I have instructed my promoter, Bob Arum, to help me out in the filing of the case as soon as possible," said the 31-year-old, who has never tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.
"Enough is enough. These people, Mayweather Sr, Jr and Golden Boy Promotions think it is a joke and a right to accuse someone wrongly of using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs.
"I have tried to just brush it off as a mere pre-fight ploy but I think they have gone overboard.
"I have had people coming over to me now asking if I really take performance-enhancing drugs and I have cheated my way into becoming the number one boxer in the world,"
"I maintain and assure everyone that I have not used any form or kind of steroids and that my way to the top is a result of hard work, hard work, hard work and a lot of blood spilled from my past battles in the ring, not outside of it.
"I have no idea what steroids look like and my fear in God has kept me safe and victorious through all these years.
"Now, I say to Floyd Mayweather Jr, don't be a coward and face me in the ring, mano-a-mano and shut your big, pretty mouth so we can show the world who is the true king of the ring."
Mayweather's team tried to diffuse the issue in a statement last week.
It read: "Let it be very clear that nobody from Team Mayweather or Golden Boy Promotions is accusing Pacquiao of anything.
"But the reality seems to be that, for whatever reason, Pacquiao does not want to participate in random blood testing, which has already been deemed a harmless procedure that many current athletes are subjected to, prior to and during competition."
Unbeaten Mayweather and five-weight champion Pacquaio - considered to be the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world - were set to meet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in the biggest fight since the turn of the century.
Pacquiao became a five-weight world champion following his WBO welterweight title win over Miguel Cotto in November, while Nevada-based Mayweather returned from a 21-month retirement to beat Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in September.

Factual? What constiitues factual and how can YOU prove Manny is NOT on something? Thats a challenge for you Mr Bongo!
Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
Never thought I'd see the day the term 'punches in bunches' is used in a lawsuit draft. It's a mess of a draft and Pacman has two hopes of winning-No hope and Bob Hope. Why aren't Paulie Malignaggi, Kermit Cintron, Miguel Cotto and scores of journalists included in the lawsuit? They have all said just as much if not more than Mayweather Jr, De La Hoya, Shaefer et co. If he is suing anybody it should be Mayweather Sr alone as he started the whole thing off.
Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
How about you just provide us with this 'information' you found on google that links Ariza to drug crimes in sports, and how about you provide us with the information you found that links Trevor Graham to Pacquiao. As far as i am aware, that was a fabricated lie designed especially for moron's like you.DG. wrote:Factual? What constiitues factual and how can YOU prove Manny is NOT on something? i dont blame floyd for being suspicious, for all we know pac might be unaware what these guys are giving him!

Got the above from another forum, but I googled it and both linked to drugs - one banned by the people who do the tests for the olympics.
One linked to Marion Jones and Gaitlin ( Footballer?). either way, googlem nthem and you will see the possible link.
Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
Because none of the above are working for Mayweather in the promotion of this fight. They are not seen as part of the clique that has set out to destroy Pacquiao's reputation.Deno1986 wrote:Why aren't Paulie Malignaggi, Kermit Cintron, Miguel Cotto and scores of journalists included in the lawsuit? Re: Pacquiao files federal lawsuit - read it here!
No offense but that makes no sense. Pacquaio might as well just say that it's ok for Malignaggi, Cotto, journalists etc to imply that he is a cheat but it's not ok for anyone involved with Mayweather to imply that he is a cheat. It's nothing to do with the promotion of a fight, it's deflamination of character in general. There are too many flaws with this case for it to be winnable.ALI wrote:Because none of the above are working for Mayweather in the promotion of this fight. Why not just agree to take the blood test? Hundreds if not thousands of athletes take it every year. Floyd has agreed to take it.
The legal action is a complete waste, solicitors can rack up hours on unecessary points.
The best way to prove Mayweather and co wrong is to take the test.... And pass it.
Legal action just raises more questions and no answers.
A bad time for Boxing.
