Its all about conditioning - I bet if you had the new forum format on here for 6 months then it suddenly went back to the format it has gone back to now - you would feel that this format was funny to get used too.
Conditioning is a powerful thing - thats why its so important to get in good habits.

One addition I feel would brighten up Boxrec is for posters to be allowed avatar pictures that they use as a online identity.
But I suspect Boxrec wants to keep the place more sensible looking.

NO
My avatars that I had when I was on Eastside Boxing were stuff like the following
I had a Colin Jones one for ages when I first joined the forum
Then I changed it regular to nice women like - Joanne Guest, Kathy Lloyd, Kim Kardshian, etc
Other boxers I had as my avatar were - Roy Jones Jnr, Gerlad McCllellen and Naseem Hamed.
Also I had various racehorses - Inglis Drever, Kauto Star.
I am banned from ESB these days - but my account is still on the forum - and the avatar that is on my account currently is Zippy from the 1980's kids TV show Rainbow.

I kind of expected that response - I dont think Boxrec is that kind of place to have images of sexy women or cartoon characters popping up every time somebody posts.
Fair enough mate - it probaly would make Boxrec lose some of its prestige.
