Graham seems like a very nice fella and has been in some absolutely cracking fights. As he says, the Romanov performance was top notch. Good luck to him if he wants to carry on but IMO he's one of those fighters that needs saving from himself. He should stay retired. I strongly disagree that the Khan fight was stopped too early: didn't his corner throw the towel in as well? Ah well hopefully he can get some wins under his belt at a lower level and get a few good paydays before he retires for good.

I believe he froze in the Khan fight.

I thought Earl was going to Knock him out.

But when the opening bell sounded he squared up and stood there as stiff as a statue just asking to be knocked out.

It was his own fault - he made it easy for Khan.

It will be without doubt a sell out. Graham will perform brilliantly and everyone will be writing about how impressive a performance he puts on.

There are valid reasons (which I cannot go into here) for the Khan and Castle losses.

Forgive my cynicism, but the most valid reason is that his punch resistance has gone. There may be other mitigating circumstances that are private, but I find it hard to believe they are anything but peripheral to those defeats.
There are plenty of fighters who flatter to deceive in the gym and then get in the ring only for it to become a harsh reminder that they can't turn the clock back. That was seen with the likes of Hunter and Brodie in 09.
Depending on how he's matched, Earl may get by on your show, but he'll never be able to recapture his peak form. Retirement is the sensible option.

I have spoken to Graham on a few occasions in the last few months when he has been in the North East on business - personally no matter how fit or motivated the lad is I think too highly of him to want to see him box and put himself into any form of the slightest danger. I feel your work is cut out to match him appropriately enough for people to take notice of the victory but there again not too harshly bearing in mind it is a comeback fight.

I genuinally wish him all the very best and want him to be a success in boxing - the thing is I just wish it was as a promoter or a manager of fighters - he has done fabuously well in the sport but everyone knows there is a time when you simply have to say enough is enough - knowing that time is the most difficult thing a boxer has to fathom out.

i like earl but what on earth does he hope to achieve from this comeback hes already won titles and made his mark.
I think he should move on, stay healthy and channel his energies into being good at something else, rather than going back over old ground.

"I am a young fresh 31 and I’ve only really had two wars in Kevin Bennett and Michael Katsidis. Other than that I have boxed very well and never been in trouble."

He was in a trouble in the Romanov fight, Ramirez fight, Khan fight, Castle fight and Vanzie had him on the floor. Having said that I still hope he does well and it would be an amazing story if he could pick up a title. A good fight for him now now would be McDonagh - a tough but light punching light-welter. If he won that then perhaps a fight with Theophane - a win over him and that would put Earl in a good position to challenge Daws for the British title.

When Earl announced this return, I thought Earl vs Brodie might be a decent pay day - I do hope Brodie has definately called time now.

Not too many can say they have been a British champion and challenged for a World title so he has a lot to be proud of. As for the Khan fight, Earl is a slow starter and Khan quite the opposite. Also Earl had gone past his best and Warren and team Khan knew that. Earl could never get back to where he was as a top domestic fighter, those days are over for him.

Yes you are right I should have mentioned his Commonwealth title, my mistake. Yes I know about the Gym in Luton, a mate of mine trains there (really to keep fit) and knows a couple of the lads Graham is working with. When are you next out?
