Him and his brother Evangelista fell out badly when Miguel changed trainer.

Lets hope they can bury the hatchet now.

Evangelista is his uncle. He fell out with his brother (cottos father). I wonder if he will regret all that now.

This is from the current scene

I found El Nuevo Dia's report of what happened at Don Miguel Cotto's funeral very emotive. The funeral was held at Don Miguel's home. Evangelista's home is located at the same terrain. They say Evangelisa didnt go to Don Miguel's house but stayed at his balcony looking sadly at the US Army honor guard say good bye to Cotto. After the ceremony (Don Miguel was in the military for many years) everyone but Evangelista and his mother went inside the house. There the honor guard gave the flag to the widow.

After the military ceremony ended Miguel came out of the house. He walked to Evangelista's place, put his right arm over his uncle and took him inside the house. They both stood before the coffin. Then Miguel took a step back so Evangelista could have a last moment of silence with his brother.

Then Don Miguel's body was taken to a local cremation center. There were Top Rank's representatives at the ceremony.

In times of sadness, it shows that however big the conflict, blood is always thicker than water.

Im glad Miguel and Evangelista have put aside their quarrel in light of what happened.

Shame for Miguel, seems like a really decent bloke.

What do we reckon about Cottos career now? After taking 2 viscous beatings like that Im not sure theres a way back, I can imagine him being as shot as Vargas was after the Delahoya fight now. Not sure there are any fights at 147 for him, unless Mayweather wins maybe they'll be given a shot at him or a Mosley rematch. I see him beign stopped again against either. Maybe a fight with Yuri Foreman at 154 to make him a 3 division champ might be good
