WBO featherweight title challenger Victor Polo has vowed to finish the job gym-mate Walter Estrada started against Scott Harrison.
Estrada - who is trained by Orlando Pineda, the same man who looks after Polo - troubled Harrison when the pair clashed last spring before crumbling to defeat.
But Polo has a far better CV, and says he will use his height and southpaw stance - attributes Estrada also boasted - to wear down the champion.
"I don't contemplate losing this fight," he said at a press conference today. "If I do, then I will retire.
"I haven't watched any tapes of Harrison, but that doesn't matter because my trainer knows all about him and has told me I cannot lose.
"Harrison is just a plain, basic fighter who relies on his strength and doesn't have any skills.
"He was exposed when he fought Estrada, and he was a novice fighter.
"On Friday he will be fighting an experienced man who knows his way around the ring.
"I won't show him any respect and I will take the title off him."
Frank Maloney, who was at today's press conference, said he was impressed by Polo and feels he could be the biggest threat to the featherweight world champion's reign.
"I always know if a fighter is up for it by the look in their eyes, and believe me Polo had that look today," he said.
"Dealing with questions from the Scottish press can be quite intimidating, but Polo handled it all really well and was laughing and joking with them.
"He doesn't seem to be at all bothered by Harrison, although if Scott had been in the room I think the fight might have started early!"
Polo: I'll finish off Scott

I don't think Harrison will lose this fight, i see him winning on points. Polo seems very confident though and sounds like going to use his boxing skills to try and frustrate Scott.Riddick Blowe wrote:there will be an upset here.
get your money on polo at 7/1.
I was waiting to see if there was anything about Polo on the local news earlier, but there was only a 10 second clip of him talking
He said "I'm a very good technical fighter and i will move around Scott all the time in the ring and confuse him to win the fight, i will knock him out."

That is tremendous value, I'm going to the bookie. I am seriously thinking about picking him in the prediction league anyway.
Harrison has only had 4 weeks to prepare for this guy, whilst its the same for Polo - he did fight a 10 rounder in October. He sounds focused and has the style to cause problems.
Having said that - I remember someone saying "you can never discount these unkown african fighters - one with an unbeaten record must be good, I think KEBEDE CAN UPSET HARRISON"
