Good opportunity for Gallagher to get world level expierence and he would have good sparring in John Murray, it would improve Murray and help him

Whilst Joe Gallagher has proven he is a good trainer - I just dont see him and Hatton together at all - yes Gallagher is good at what he does but from a personality angle - sorry just dont see the 2 mixing that well although I am sure Mr Gallagher will refute that.

However more importantly - I read the article and saw Joe's words - yes there is no denying Ricky Hatton will train like a demon - and yes we all know there is no way Ricky Hatton will come to the ring in anything else than supremely fit - I dont think anyone has ever slated him for that - in addition Gallagher states he would not try to get Ricky to do anything differently - whilst a Hatton in his prime, Gallagher's words might seem sensible - the question that many have is - even when Hatton was at his very best he took shots when working his way inside his opponents shots so he could go about his famous attacks to the body - its Hatton's vulnerability to taking a shot which many people are questioning and if Gallagher or any other trainer is not going to change Hatton - then I am afraid I would implore Hatton to stick at promoting - because I honestly think there is a very serious question on whether he can hold the shots he once took from an opponent which in the past he simply brushed off. The higher class opponent he faces the more worries I have that this vulnerability will surface even quicker - JMM will relish that opportunity.

Gallagher has done well with Macklin, and Ricky training alongside him and in house sparring with John Murray would be good for him, and also i wonder if he would bring Kerry Kays on board too?

Its been my understanding Kerry wont work with Hatton due to the fallout with Billy Graham.

One thing is for sure, Ricky needs Kerry more than Kerry needs Ricky.

RH has treated Billy Graham disgarcefully and it speaks volumes that KK will not work or have anything to do with him now.

Teddy,

Whilst I will agree with you - I also think KK has acted with the utmost dignity concerning many matters surrounding his time with Team Hatton - It is my personal opinion he alone could have said a lot concerning the way he was treated too and I am not on about after the split with Team Hatton.

Kayes in my view is top draw - his advice and assistance to many boxers has proved invaluable and it really is my belief it is him who got Hatton in such good shape both physically and mentally - look at Hatton's performances since Kayes has not been involved!!! - and it is this as well as other things like Hatton's ability to take shots as well as he did which makes me believe he is making a mistake in coming back.

sounds like a potentially awkward situation, but surely joe gallagher will know a thing or two about getting a fighter fit.

1-1 and his win was top draw and his defeat was against the P4P #1 who toyed with Cotto.

Kerry was involved in the Lazcano fight, which has been, according to some Ricky's worst peformance in recent years.

He did look terrible against Manny, although I believe (and we'll never know the answer I fear) there were other things involved in the build up. Hints were given before the camp of problems with Mayweather.

However, I thought he looked fantastic both at the weigh in and in the ring against Malignaggi. Thats the best I've seen Ricky look at a weigh in.

If Ricky does fight again (which I really don't think he should), but if he does, it dosent matter in the slightest who trains him. Rickys training is to shift his derby and nothing more. Combine Billy Graham, Lee Beard, Mayweather Sr, Ricky never fought a different fight in his life. The only thing that effects the fight is the opponent. Ricky's Ricky, always has been and always will be. He does exactly what it says on the tin and he does it EVERY time, its what has made him a fans favorite. But weather it's you, me or the man down the street, whoever trains Rickty next won't make a dent in his performance one way or the other.

I have to disagree I thought he looked gaunt and drawn at the weigh in for Malignaggi. Although his performance was good.

Not sure what this point has to do with Hatton's performances post Kayes - are you implying that Kayes wasn't "really
' involved with that fight??

I think I was in the minority with the views on here at the time.... I think some of the Sky pundits thought he looked great. I just thought he looked like a monster at 140 lbs that weigh in. So cut.
